All three Microsoft Security Essentials were updated today: XP x86, Vista/Win7 32- and 64-bit.

Version is: 1.0.2498.0

true. the detection may be unable to say the difference, because it is looking only for the name. i'm not running this ones right now, so i can't look for an detection for the version. as the detection is being done by the name, there's no need to update the modules, only the download links and it was done. i hope to have some free time this weekend, so i will dig for an detection that works with version

well, half of the work is already done. the files for this one was downloaded and checked. the md5 for all x86 versions (xp, vista and seven) is the same, so this script will take some diet. the module for it is already done, but the x64 version will be tested under an vm (yes, i've finally found one that claims to work to run x64 systems under vm. vmlite, for those that wish it. and yes, it's free). so, instead mess with my windows, mess with an vm...
