SP3 and Updates

Guest_rupertbear_* 20 Nov 2010

New to Autopatcher, looks like at least part of what I'm looking for.

I frequently have to update XP installations from SP2, a very tedious business. I have a couple of questions:

If I use AutoPatcher post XP3, what happens with updates which require responses, particularly IE8?

Is it possible to integrate SP3 install and AutoPatcher, or will I still have two procedures to go through?

Thanks

all the updates are silently installed (except for wga)

about sp3, it's possible do an module for it. i did it once for sp2 and probably it will work with sp3 as well

Spoiler

the KB936929_runonce.apf file:
Spoiler

that module will not deploy sp3 at once. to be on the safe side, it will do it at your first reboot. don't be stupid of change the module to do that when everything is still on, because it may mess with your windows. so, play safe and let the module as is. and never, never deploy anything else with any service pack
