I an running Windows 7 ultimate x32 when do the Windows Update I get the error 80092004. Just seeing if any knows a fix for this. Thanks.

well, i've found a couple of fixes to that. the most common is an wild guess that us to erase the WU history and doesn't fix anything. by other hand:
System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7 (KB947821) [November 2010]
This tool is being offered because an inconsistency was found in the Windows servicing store which may prevent the successful installation of future updates, service packs, and software

I read thru the posts, I'm not sure exactly what worked, do you think you might elaborate on the steps that worked for you - it may be of help to someone else :)

I just follow the steps that are in that link and it seemed to work. This will work on 32 bit too witch is what I have.

1) uninstalled hotfix 2422556 (& reboot)

2) run Windows6.1-KB947821-v8-x64.msu (& reboot)

3) installed Windows6.1-KB2416400-x64.msu from a downloaded copy
