Are "Registry Tweaks" only options...

pstein's Photo pstein 26 Dec 2010

Autopatcher offers a section "Registry Tweaks".
If I apply such an update does that only add on option to modify the system (e.g. by adding a
new button or menu entry) or does it already change the system?

Is there an automatic backup before applying Registry Tweaks?

Is there an undo of these "Registry Tweaks" ?

Where can I get more information about all of the offered registry Tweaks from Autopatcher?

It may be both, a new menu item, a new listing in Windows Explorer - regardless, the changes are real (and applied in the registry and the system). Please don't experiment if you don't need the tweak or know how to undo the changes.

No, you need to backup your registry (fully) before you mess with it - it is your responsibility and nobody should have to tell you this. You should already know to backup your system before making these kinds of changes.

Right-click tweak, select 'undo'. If you really screw things up - import your registry backup, the one you created before you started messing around.

Read the description, some tweaks may offer a link for more information. Most are pretty self-explanatory. If you don't know what it means from the description you don't need the tweak - again, please don't experiment if you know-not what you're doing.
