Would it be possible for Autopatcher to fix the erroneous "error" with Microsoft Security Essentials? The fix is fairly simple, but for the non-nerd types it's often not so easy to do.

Of course the easiest cure would be for Microsoft to produce a hotfix to fix what they broke! Even easier would be to get rid of the validation entirely for XP since it's EOL.

sorry, but that can't be done. so far i know, we can't change any rights over files/registry. even if we could do that, i'm not sure if is an good idea. you know, long ago, an ms bone-head had nothing better to do and decide bother us (and only us) saying that we was doing piracy. as the world has a lot of bone-heads that could happen again, if by some reason one of them think that this could bypass wga (and of course isn't the case. it's an know failure in wga check). due that no, that is an bridge that i will not cross
