Overflow error occurs after each download. I have to press "OK" button 15 times before it can start downloading the next file!! Really annoying. I hope you guys fix this bug soon

The image in post #1 is non-existant and the image in post #2 does nothing when you click it (not for me anyway) - I'll assume operator error for now.

The program you're having an issue with is APUP not AutoPatcher (from the looks of the thumbnail). If you've selected too many scripts APUP will choke - less than 4GB at a time seems to work. Security software can interfere with the download process, running apup.exe from a remote location as well can cause problems - blanket statements without any details don't help the troubleshooting process. It may be APUP, we'll leave it at that. Your profane first post title wont win you much help that's for sure.

I figure the best thing for you is to delete the folder with the AutoPatcher release (\apup) and find another solution that works on your system. Deleting the \apup folder will clean the program from your system, you'll be good to go. Again, sorry for the hassle.

Nothing profane, just your software made me angry when it didnt do what it is supposed to do. Why dont you fix your code instead of blaming users? Apup shows that the last update date of apu engine is 6th March 2010. It is very clear that you dont care about the program, so pls stop talking about operator error!

And yes i was talking about APUP as you can see easily on the image. (The image in post #1 didnt show up because of your buggy forum, not my fault) I didnt say Autopatcher! I selected 12 scripts which is 2.47 GB in total. So it is not even 4GB, and still chokes? And still user's fault? Weird... I tested it and same annoying error happens again and again no matter how many scripts are selected. I also should say i dont use any security software, only windows firewall, which i allowed access for apup.

So your best solution is to delete the program? Thats very professional support really!

Here is the details:

Updater ver: 1.3.0.1
Engine ver: 5.6.0.100
OS: Win7 x64 (all updates installed)
NET Framework: 4.0
Error: "Overflow in prjUpdater.mdlDownloader.processDownloadQueue at line 173"

I dont know if you are one of the developers, but all you have to do is to check processDownloadQueue() function in the code (line 173 if you are too lazy lol), why is so hard to do that? Imagine that Microsoft would say "Delete your windows if you have problems" instead of releasing patches. Wouldnt you have laugh, like i laugh at you?

@ nexus99

There is nothing wrong with deleting the folder for apup and redownloading apup and doing another autopatcher run and downloading the updates again. I had no problems what so ever on w7x86or w7x64 downloading and installing apup updates. So operator error is also the problem and to just dismiss that part is dubious at best. Even if you gave the revision to us that tells us very little what the problem is. And screen shots that doesn't work doesn't help. If something doesn't work or is corrupt you Add/Remove it in windows...just like any programs that you don't want anymore you delete it and find a fresh new copy and start over again. Trying to use the same apup that was that was having the problem and not redownloading and trying again doesn't help either.

Regardless of what you might think otherwise deleting and reinstalling software is the best way to fix the problems during install or bad operator install/run. Files and programs corrupt anytime and any place regardless of how much one thinks they have it under control.

This would be good if it had a working screen shot to look at what your downloading and what you have checked to download. Since we have no idea what your attempting to download that makes any guess at solution not helpful at all.

Don't like the software don't use it no one is telling you to use it. You can go right ahead and use Windowsupdate no one is stopping you. Some people don't like using windows update cause it has caused problems for some and for some it to have it when they have to reinstall windows and don't have to sit and time consume windows update downloading all over again. In which they just have to run the saved autopatcher updates and go from there and have windows updated in no time. So again if you don't like using autopatcher don't use it. It's that easy....you always go windows update to go with.

> So it is not even 4GB, and still chokes?
regardless, for every single download, apup has to:
- check the md5 (twice);
- check the size;
- do an download
- extract some files

ignoring the last action, every download has at least 4 actions and according to the number of files that you are downloading, the queue just becomes too big. easily fixable? perhaps. but shortly after that release date that everybody can see, the last developer of this project has become father. so, work the entire day and, when finally at home, what you do: take care of your own or do something like work for free or play? besides, there's a lot of issues with the executables. first of all, they must be ported to x64, the download engine has to deal with redirected links, etc. to fix the last part, may be an pain, because the download engine is too integrated. still, it can be done, IF someone is willing to work for free. in the past few years, just a few did that

so, the easy workaround is just select less scripts at the same time. will you loose an finger or something else by doing that? if that argument isn't enough, have you any idea about the nightmare that is track issues with a dozen of scripts all merged?

please, think about

my 2 cents only

no, i'm out of the project. right now, i'm just another user, with the exact same rights as any other and i'm just arround. the funny thing is that i've quit a few weeks ago and already was demoted, but the beta team members, that vanished a few days after join the beta team, right now have more rights than me, because they never was demoted. but no problem, at least the spam issue seems fixed. but no, i will not resume anything. right now, i'm looking to my personal stuff and i'm seeing things that are broken since long ago and i even have noticed, due my work load. also, a few days ago was my anniversary and i'm now 35 years old, without any kids yet. i'm not sure, but seems that after an certain age, certain things take over, like the desire to become father, that never will happen if i keep working like an dog forever. the sad part is that my current girlfriend doesn't wanna that, so...

so the screenshot works or not? I can see it here, but i will give the link again anyway: here

So this project has no active developers now? Any chance to release the source code? I can help coding if you port it to the .NET framework. After fixing the bugs, autopatcher will be much better and more useful for everyone in my opinion. Anyway i will keep trying until it works.

Btw, Im thankful to Cristiano, for explaining things, he was more friendly than gUiTaR_mIkE. It is too bad that he quits. This forum needs helpful moderators.

great.. an blackout and i've lost the post... ok, let's do again...

> So this project has no active developers now?
i'm not sure. antony was last active in the forum a few days ago, but didn't said nothing

> Any chance to release the source code?
i really doubt that. i have the full source, but the ones that could talk about that are the team members, not me

> .NET framework
this was one of the ideas that we was talking about some time ago. but due lack of free time...

> After fixing the bugs, autopatcher will be much better and more useful
i fully agree with you

but again, there's more than fix code. the problem is that since long ago, most of the projects like this one are shutting down due lack of people. when time goes, more and more people leave the projects and no one joins and the ones that remains become overloaded. you know, to keep an forum, there's a lot of things that must be done, besides update the code...
