Kind attention Autopatcher Administrators/members:

The Autopatcher Update (apup.exe) has given an error message concerning a critical update for Windows XP SP3 (screenshot attached herewith). I tried to see if the critical update link (as seen in the screenshot) is alive, but it failed with a "Error 404 - Not Found" message. Strangely enough, when I tried with this working link I could download the file windows_xp_sp3_enu_critical_20110217.7z (11 KB size). I checked the contents of the *\apup\temp_bin directory and found a file with this name: windows_xp_sp3_enu_critical.7z (with the same 11 KB size). I am confused as to why the Autopatcher Update Downloader (apup.exe) is giving the error message when it actually seems to find the required critical update: "One or more files has failed verification. Please re-run AutoPatcher Updater."

In addition, when I checked the "apup.log" file, I found that there are couple of other files that were not downloaded (due to link error??) or the size(s) didn't match.

As I couldn't attached the log file, I am just highlighting the error messages:

Please let me know the corrective measures to be taken so that the updates are successfully completed. Thanks in advance.

Hi subs :)

-> XP SP3
It looks like there was an error in the script and 7z file, a needed folder was missing - fixed. I also downloaded the UPHClean.msi, everything is OK. Run APUP, select the XP x86 script and update the release. If there are other releases in the same folder that are Unofficial AutoPatcher will give off a warning. You can determine what release(s) are False by following the information given from the link below - Office Addons.

The links you mention, if you look at the end of the first link, notice --, the second link works because it doesn't have them. When copying links from the log, remove the double-dash from the path, then proceed to download (or test link).

-> Office Addons (OCONVPCK.EXE)
This issue appears to be new, a dead link in the script - this happens. I addressed the issue Here! - post #5 & #6. The fix for now is the same for you, remove the file & folder - post #6.

-> Junk E-mail Filter [February 2011] (Windows6.0-KB905866-V47-x86.msu)
The size and hash are definitely wrong for this file. As with Office, Vista is Domenico's and I'm not sure if he visits the forum anymore. He did update last month without any mention of it, maybe he will do the same this month - I can't promise anything. If you know how, and want the filter, run the file manually and install it if your system requires it.

There is nothing more to do with Vista x86 or Office Addons until the scripts are fixed - the same issues will remain. Hopefully Domenico will at least let us know if he's retired from the project.

subs, please have a look at Log Files - Creating & Log Files - Reference. We ask that a log file be posted unedited in the appropriate forum, listing only the script giving problems. Paste the log text in Spoiler. In this case, you have 3 scripts giving you problems, XP x86, Vista x86, and Office Addons (Office Forum) - all 3 have their own forum. One reason for this, the release maintainer for Vista wont see the problem if it's mentioned in the XP forum - for next time :)

I'm not sure yet what's wrong with uploading an image - they still wont expand so I can't view your attachment.

Anyway, don't hesitate to follow up if you get stuck.

I'm getting the same error: "One or more files has failed verification. Please re-run AutoPatcher Updater."

From the log file, the relevant error seems to be: Download Error: C:\Documents and Settings\***\My
Documents\Autopatcher\apup\modules\Critical\KB890830_files\windows-kb890830-v3.17.exe
File size does NOT match. Expecting 12502472, but found 1245!!!
