AutoPatcher Forum

First-time forum user, but have been using AP about 3 years (Computer Technician). Trying to get APUP to complete under Win7 SP1 but receive 20+ error prompts "Application Error: Permission denied in prjUpdater.mdlShellExecute.executeCommand at line 116". After "OK"-ing these APUP downloads three files but apup.log first lists MD5 hash mis-matches, then file-size mis-matches for all three ("directx_Jun2010_redist.exe", "install_flash_player.exe", and "install_flash_player_ax.exe"). Any clues?

I had a similar problem with install_flash_player.exe: even after a restart of apup.exe it still gave a verification error message on that. I worked around it by manually downloading install_flash_player.exe from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/.
I'm sure the wonderful people who created AutoPatcher will fix this minor problem soon.

Note: if you run APUP via the 'hit_this_to_generate_a_log_file_for_apup' script the resulting logfile will list direct download links, e.g.: flashplayer for IE http://fpdownload.ma..._player_ax.exe.

More info: most of my work involves XP SP3, Vista SP2, and Win7 SP1. If a client's OS does not have the latest Service Pack I install the SP(s) then run autopatcher.
I.e.: I maintain three versions of autopatcher; APUP_XPSP3, APUP_VISTASP2, and APUP_W7SP1. Each version is updated under that version's OS, e.g.: I boot to Win7 SP1 before updating APUP_W7SP1.
At present APUP_XPSP3 & APUP_VISTASP2 are updating successfully, though I had to run APUP twice in each case (fairly normal). Am only having this problem with APUP_W7SP1.

Update: http://www.autopatch...-7-x64-scripts/ could explain why I am having trouble. Will try starting over with APUP for Win7 SP1.
