I keep getting an error "One or more files has failed verification. Please re-run AutoPatcher Updater"
I received the above error while downloading the XP SP3 x86 updates.
I received the above error while downloading the Windows 7 x86 updates.
I received the above error while downloading the Winows Vista SP2 x86 updates.
Extras works fine.
Windows 7 x64 works fine.

I love using AutoPatcher, excellent work has been done on this project.

"One or more files has failed verification. Please re-run AutoPatcher Updater"
... XP SP3 x86 updates. ... Windows 7 x86 updates. ... Windows Vista SP2 x86 updates.
These releases haven't been updated so rerunning APUP wont change anything. I would uncheck them in APUP, only try to update if you see a more recent date, chances are good they are no longer in development. I would consider them unsafe to run and update a system.

... Extras works fine. ... Windows 7 x64 works fine.

These have been recently updated. I would only run APUP again if they get updated. I don't know what the maintainer has planned at this point, he gave no mention of future plans. I would suggest copying (don't move) a release to a temp location if you think it can be updated without failing, this way an Official release stays Official (assuming it was to start with). If a release is Official it still becomes obsolete at some point, you want the most recent batch of updates - use your best judgement.

One of the biggest problems are expiring links, if a file gets updated including the link (890830 is a good example), the old link will eventually fail - this will happen to first time 'Full' downloads of outdated releases - they wont get all the files. Also, a file might get updated using the same link so a hash will fail - DirectX 9 for example - again, a first time 'Full' download of an outdated release will get a file but the hash will always be different and fail.

I have no idea regarding the status of the releases, the best idea is to copy a release and attempt to update, if the date hasn't changed no need to waste your time. Right now it looks as if only Windows 7 x64 SP1 and Extras are current for now :). If you run APUP, look at the dates, if no change quit APUP, or check the releases.list - always refresh (reload) first to get the latest. I use Firefox, Ctrl-F and search by year and month (201104, 201105), highlight all, this will give a good idea what if any release has been updated and when.

It is a shame to see such a great program not being kept up.

True, volunteers are always welcome :) What we really need bad is a programmer to get the software modernized, bug free, and fully compatible with newer OSes, 7, 8 is around the corner. Unless this happens closing the doors is best.

April was big, May not much, now is the time to catch up a few of the releases. Two, three months from now it will start to get away from you and will only be more difficult (but not impossible) to make current.
