Well im still looking into why the downloads hang.

So you want to to only show the English releases, I can understand that, It is planned already to add a language selector in the options area to only display a language or all of them. For now you can click on the header and it will sort based on what header you clicked on.

Moved the download file to another thread to make it easier to find.

DesertJery:
Try the new version... this should save before downloading instead of before you close the program. Simply moved one line up before the other.

Also new in this version, it is less likely to crash when you cancel the download. This might also fix the hanging the download window does sometimes. <-- wold appreciate feedback on this.

thats strange... it was working for everyone that tested it. Do you have an ini file in the same directory as apup2? It stores your selections in the ini file. If there is no ini file it doesn't have the rights to create files in the apup2 dir or something else got funky.

Unable to minimise to the Taskbar. Will close all apps and reboot and try again to minimise.

May have missed this during my reading but is there any reason why there are no update options for Office 2010? Thanks. :-)

I see what you mean by not being able to minimize, I must have bumped some code somewhere that effected that... I will look into it.

There is no script for office 2010 because even though APUP2(and I think the old APUP did too) supports it... AutoPatcher does not support it, in its current form. I have to get around to converting that code from old VB to C++. If your daughter would like some practical experience under her belt she could help with that. It would look good on a resume. edit: huh... I don't see anything preventing it from minimizing. I will poke around it some more later... its on my todo list.

Hope the above is of some help. Didn't post the full file as this was the only part that errored.
[EDIT] Ran the Update twice more but still getting the same error message.

Minimise is now working after running the app. Didn't reboot and didn't close anything that was open. Just closed and opened it though I did have to kill it using Task Manager first. It now appears to be working ok.

see that... it downloaded a 404 error page. That file(OCONVPCK.EXE) is known to be missing already. It was removed by Microsoft from there site. I think someone found a replacement on one of the other threads... I will notify domenico.

Not sure on the other one... that may be a new missing file.

edit:
as an afterthought I might look into creating a detection for 404 errors and making a note in the log instead of the size mismatch message.

KB905866-V2_x86.msu refers to Update for Windows Mail Junk E-mail Filter. I ran into this also but fixed by copying the file and apm from my other machine then pasted into my APUP2 folder......problem solved. The problem maybe that this file has changed and no is at version 3(November 2011). It also needs the validation process.

I have informed domenico and he is working on it... he is a busy person and is doing this while working at the same time... he said he hopes to have the scripts done by today... if not, tomorrow.

Update: He did a fresh install of 2007 and it appears there is only one download needed after SP3. might get the update script today after all.

OK... I've fixed all reported issues:
OCONVPCK.EXE -> removed (because MS link is broken)
KB905866 -> updated to v53
Office 2007 -> updated to SP3
FileFormatConverter.exe -> updated

I'm very tired... and It's time to sleep for me!
Bye.

I have a new version of apup2 finished. This version has full proxy support in it as well as language selection. As usual I will send it off to domenico to give the final ok before you guys see it. Its not an important update so you don't have to download it if, its not something you need or care about.

It won't save your selection in language because it pulls the available types of languages from the list. (Thats why you see two Italians in the list, domenico put the language in one of the scripts as Italiano.) I don't want to hard code a list of languages to select from either. Who knows, later we might need to add more... better to pull a list on languages from a release.list that is flexible then have a need for a programmer to modify code. IF you guys really want it to remember the language say so.. if enough people want it, I will add it in.

Someone asked domenico to ask me about exit errorcodes for apup2. Currently it doesn't have much in the way of exit errorcodes. It does have errocodes all throughout the code but, they are interpreted and reported in the log file and to the user via dialog boxes so they never reach the exit of the app. I thought about it over thanksgiving and I will see about adding exit codes to apup2. It will be high on my todo list.

Also thinking about skipping the first window all together if your automating it. Only download window would show.

Well I have put the programming on hold for a bit while I work on the XP x64 ENU script. I want to get a script working for my OS version due to needing a reinstall soon. 100+ downloads to add to the old beta script. I wish there was a SP3 for XP x64.

There are almost 500 downloads on Apup2 ver:1.0.4.6. Has anyone any comments on anything?

Yes I know the stats don't update yet. They already do in the next version.
