are you referring to the list box having a scroll bar or a scroll bar for the whole window?

I still had up/down and left/right scroll bars for the whole window. My preferences is to be able to manually widen the window left/right and up/down as I want, basically to see everything at once and to fit my screen. Similar to the downward pointing lower right corner in IE8

OK Jerry I am modifying it as you ask.
Changes so far...

The window can re-size to an extent.(I have set a minimum size)
will remember the size and position of the window.
It will remember the sizes of the columns in the list.
It will remember the language you selected.
Also added the ability to change the font in case you wish it. It will remember that too but, only the font and the size. The forum was designed around font size 9 so the text may not line up properly or size up good depending on the font and size you choose. You are forewarned. OHH and your font choices do NOT affect the download window. Its a bit more effort if you want that in. Do you think it should?

Think I am done for the day(s)... changes posted HERE as usual.

Nice to have font selection - thanks. For me, Segoe UI 9 pt looks good for the list, but there's still a little truncation on the panels as you stated. The buttons at the bottom of some of the screens and the scroll bars are missing. The window sizing and lang are not being remembered after resizing and selecting the top right close button.

>> Do you think it should?

I would leave the download window the way it is.

ha.. well the function that remembers your settings are tied to two buttons... exit, and finish. if you don't hit one of them, its assumed you don't care about whats on the screen.

Also can you post pics? im interested in the missing buttons. does this only happen with certain fonts or is it when you size the screen?

edit:
so I was interested in what kind of font that was... so I looked it up and it appears to be some other language font. lol. What language is it? Derp.

Downloaded version11 - started same - APUP2 window opened > had up/down scroll bar > resized window vertically > exit > start APUP2 > window size maintained. Problem fixed. Good work.

Well since you didn't complain about missing buttons I am going to guess the missing buttons problem had something to do with click-clicks font then.

No. I ran APUP2 from scratch starting with no .ini file. This is what I see (no Buttons or scroll-bar) on the two displays.
The options menu is ok and seems to be sized differently.

Attached File  APUP2_2.png   25.49K   7 downloads

The font I prefer using is a font that comes with Vista and Win7. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Segoe
You really should test with a larger (120) DPI. Just create a test user account and change the DPI there if you don't want to mess up your current desktop. If everything looks good at 120 dpi, it should look ok at 96dpi. It doesn't usually work the other way around though.

My display of APUP2 is what I've always seen as far as buttons are concerned - I checked the images click-click posted; not happening here.

darn it click click... now I have like 40+ icons to move around. I forgot that when you change the dpi in XP it affects all the desktops not just one account. I see what you were talking about though. I disabled my special resize code that tries to trick borland but, I didn't disable borlands code. I will work on it.

Bah... I guess this forces me to put those desktop icons into folders on the desktop now like I always thought I should.

Sorry ViroMan. I was under the impression that it was a per user setting. Thanks for testing that for me. Posted Image

My DPI question was meant for DesertJerry, but I deleted it after reading your post.

well since he doesn't have any missing buttons it can be assumed that he either has the same dpi as me or lower.

Looks fine for me. I still had some truncation on the panels for some fonts that I tried. I ended up using Arial 9pt which I'm satisfied with.
Thanks ....

APUP1 shows dates as ddmmyyyy

APUP2 shows dates as yyyymmdd

My preference is ddmmyyyy and, for spacing alignment, dd should include leading 0 (zero).

Downloaded APUP2 1.0.5.13 - Extra Addon Pack not updated to 06May2012 - APUP1 had the latest.
