Adobe recently released the following:

FlashPlayer11_0_1_60_beta1_ActiveX_32bit.exe
FlashPlayer11_0_1_60_beta1_Plugin_32bit.exe

FlashPlayer11_0_1_60_beta1_ActiveX_64bit.exe
FlashPlayer11_0_1_60_beta1_Plugin_64bit.exe

The earlier 64-bit Flash Players were:

FlashPlayer10_2_p3_64bit_activex.exe
FlashPlayer10_2_p3_64bit_plugin.exe

(I renamed all these files so I could keep track of them here. The Adobe names were a pain.)

The earlier 64-bit Flash Players, when installed, had no effect on the 32-bit versions that were also installed so that the user, if necessary, could switch between the 32-bit version or the 64-bit version of Internet Explorer as required when going online and Flash Player was required.

When I downloaded these beta versions the first thing I did in Win7 64-bit w/SP1 was to uninstall 10_3 series of the 32-bit versions and install these new 11_0 series. Installation was no problem.

I then uninstalled the 10_2_p3 64-bit versions of the 64-bit Flash Players and installed the latest beta. This installation totally removed the listing of the 32-bit versions of the Flash Player betas from Control Panel > Programs and Features.

Started IE 32-bit and then 64-bit - went to various web pages that had Flash content - no problems with videos.

Checked \Windows\System32\Flash and found updates had been installed.

Checked \Windows\SysWOW64\Flash and found updates installed here too.

I would have to conclude then, the 64-bit version of Flash Player installation takes care of both 32-bit and 64-bit IE, and, I would assume, other browsers.

I know AutoPatcher does not update things for betas but I figured I'd mention what I found now so that those responsible for updating scripts and downloads would be ready for when Flash Player 64-bit final is released.
