I tried this on 2 different system with fresh installs of genuine copies of XP home & XP pro both with SP2 (32bit) installed and had same results.

Used: Autopatcher XP32 3.4 beta • DotNet addon • DirectX addon

Autopatcher installs on the systems without error but when I reboot and try to run IE7 the IE7 windows appears for a breif momment (just window, no icons or text - more like the window frame) and dissapears.
The only way for me to get IE7 to work is to reinstall it alone.

Any ideas? Thanks

Update:
I downloaded AP_XP32 fresh from the latested APUP. I do not have this problem with the last public AP before the microsoft bullsheet.

This is exactly why I love to work on AP since I'm in the same boat as you

Make sure to run an update either tonight or tomorrow for the latest January security updates B)

It's probably because there's a new update or two since the last AP (August) release that doesn't work too well when installed along with IE7.

Having the same issue wit IE7.... using the Jan/08 files. Basically having to uninstall and reinstall the ie7 update to get it to open correctly. Also noticing that, Windows Defender is not installing either. Wonder if still could be issue with Microsoft validation software not being detected on the machine until it reboots? Dont think this is supposed to be a issued with the newer ie7 installs; but, would it stop the WD installation?
