Well I'm not getting any replies on the other board so I'm posting it here:

Hey everyone, so I just downloaded the windows movie maker for win2k and everything was going great until finally when I was done my movie, I could only save it as a project! When I try to save it as a movie it comes up with this error: Unable to create the dialog. File not found

So I need the file to be able to save, unless there's something else wrong...
if it helps all I downloaded was the wmm on the autopatcher.

Thanks!

AutoPatcher only installs the updates. If the installation went fine then your problem is with Microsoft for a faulty program (gee, big surprise........) and you should contact them.

I just downloaded same (from the August 2007 version; I don't see it on the newest one) and have the exact same thing happening.

Somehow I suspect that this is yet another fine example of Microswine crapware.

Still looking for solutions, but it doesn't look good.
And the worst thing is, Movie Maker being a fine MSwine product, you can't uninstall the damn thing.

Problem was noted when Microsoft first came out with movie maker and it will happen to everyone that clicks out of movie tasks.

Solution is to go to VIEW - Click on TASK PANE to bring up the Movie Tasks
now you should see Finish movie which gives you the option of saving it.

I have exactly the same problem...I've also tried to follow your instructions, but there is no "Task Pane" option in the "View" menu, and no sign of any "Finish Movie" option either.. Any ideas?

This is Version 1.2.2541.1
