Just wondering what is the status of the Dot Net scripts as it seems that this addon hasn't been updated in quite a while.
I know all that are corcerned with updating scripts are busy and have lives out the project but it would be nice to get information on the progress.

Can you look at your .net directory and tell me its current size? should be... modules\Components\__dotnet

There looks like there is a way on the script maintenance side if we remove all .net updates have you download Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and then add three update. but the total download comes to 231m for the .net 3.5 sp1 and 17m for the thee updates.

The .net 3.5 sp1 comes with .net 2.0 and all the updates to get both up to date.

edit: funny thing is... if I look at the x64 version for updates... all I need is 3 downloads for 138m

Hey ViroMan, just checked my directory for dotnet and it shows as 623Mb containing 82 files in 41 folders.The dotnet directory on mine is for Win XP Win Vista SP2 x86 and Win 7 x64 and x86.

starting to wonder if I should split the release.list into x64 and x86 lists.

Actually wouldn't be a bad idea, I'm sure that was looked into prevoiusly but I think there were .
problems with doing so.

well the problem was that APUP couldn't do it easily but APUP2 can do it since you can change its download location.

bah... looking at the script... I see why there are soo many extra downloads.The script is semi updated however there are lots of updates for other systems in here as well. There are both x64 and x86 downloads then there are windows 2000 downloads and windows vista downloads and windows 7 downloads. This adds up to tons of extra data that most of you won't need. I know domenico couldn't have done it any other way except to split the list 4 ways. It just aggravates me when I think that I need to download all that unneeded data for my computer.

There are probably redundant hotfixes amongst them that have been superseded.
Could the dotnet script be made so that it downloads just the files needed for the os selected, or to separate folders under dotnet directory for each os if multiples are selected.Just my thoughts on the situation as it may make the directory a little easier to manage also the script(s).

the script is now updated... domenico will sign it shortly.

Im still deciding whether to split it into x64 and x86 scripts. The more time passes the more the downloads will come in both flavors and the more need to split the scripts.

Also... there are plans to create a new script structure that will make creating modules only take a few seconds a file instead of all this leg work there is to do now. The way things are now will be nearly completely changed.

.NET scripts updated and signed. Tell me if its missing anything. I looked at the last two months of patch Tuesday updates and updated the scripts.

All looks fine to me and there maybe other users that find missing files.. so we will wait and see..

well not just me I had help from domenico... there was just no way I could have downloaded all the stuff to get it signed. I made the script he downloaded all the stuff and then signed it. so its 50/50 credits.

strange... wonder why that error didn't show up in the test. ohh well the script had the wrong md5... minor error... fixed now. Thanx for the report.
