Is Autopatcher the program for me?

Guest_Punkrulz_* 24 Jan 2008

Hey guys,

I'm sitting here typing out this message while waiting for Windows Update to finish on two more computers... and I have more computers that either need updating or formatting. It made me think, that I'm tired of having to go to the Windows Update website because sometimes it either takes way too long simply checking updates, and other times it won't work without reason. I am interested in finding something that will:

1) Download the patches automatically for me.
2) Will enable me to place the patches onto a CD, and will enable me to install them in one quick easy step.

I have a computer here where after upgrading, IE doesn't even want to look at websites anymore...

Now, I read the What is Autopatcher page, and I must say I'm impressed. I know I was here before but I never adopted this mentality of updating... I guess I've just had enough. It's a shame that I can't download autopatcher until February because of the cap... but hey nothing I personally can do about that. I did read though that there are patches that have to be done via Windows Update, is this true?

If I was to download AutoPatcher, would this completely negate the use of Windows Update, I'd be able to download ALL of the patches, critical and optional (Understandably except the hardware patches) without having to do WU anymore, and be able to install from the CD? Or would I still be required to visit WU on each computer for specific patches?

it's better take a look to see if the validation of that windows isn't corrupted in some way. in early versions of IE7, ms added an wga check. if something regarding the windows validation was corrupted, sometimes that issue can happend. unfortunelly, there's just a few things that you can do to reverse the effect of that. but the current version of IE7 doesn't have that wga chek anymore. ms has removed that thing because of issues like this one. of course, you may stay out ie7, since ie6 updates are included in ap

yes.

yes too. some devices sometimes has critical issues and may require updates. sometimes, that sort of updates you may found at WU too. but if you look for security issues regarding ms products like windows and office, autopatcher has all. if not, please report ;)
