Have a suggestion for additional files for inclusion in the Common Files module.
This being the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistibutable Packages for x86 and x64
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 (x86)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 (x86)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 (x86)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 (x86)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 (x86)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 (x86)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010(x64)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1(x64)
Was cleaning up my system by unstalling unwanted programs and noticed I have Visual C++ runtimes for 2005 and 2008 installed, checked autopatcher and found nothing for them
Like I said it's just a suggestion !!!

You know I seriously gave that a thought the other week or making them a separate script. We can make it a separate script for now and if more people want it we can make it part of the common script.
Also moved to suggestions area.

If you want to fetch the download links, file MD5, and size. we can throw a script together pretty fast.

I see you show Microsoft Visual C++ 2010. Is that just 2010 or it the SP1 for 2010?

My bad didn't copy everything from file I made for this. Here is the amended listing
The 2010 files are the same for the original and SP1 releases unless I have made an error somewhere....can someone verify if I am correct here(just double checked.... all ok)
Thanks Black Ghost for pointing the error in my ways... the 2010 and 2010 SP1 are the version numbers shown on the MS site.

Finding ways to detect the installation of these buggers is proving painfully slow.

I see what you mean..checked the registry and not a lot info regarding these.
In add and remove programs (WinXP) the visual C++ 2008 displays an entry for both the original file and SP1, however 2010 only displays the SP1.Doing a manual install on the Vista machine and will report once it is done

Update..my Vista machine has 2005,2008,2010 installed.
It appears to me that 2005 and 2008 don't have detection as each the original file and SP1 appear as seperate entries but 2010 SP1 as if you want to repair visual C++ to original or to remove it.
Hope this may help in some way

well there are registry entries.... I think I have them... I will create the APM's and see if they detect the ones I have installed.
Can you check your registry if any of those locations exist?

well the sub versions are not really important... we can conclude that 2005 is 8.0, 2008 is 9.0, and 2010 is 10.0

OK I have uploaded a test version of the script. I don't know if it works yet as im still downloading the files. You can test it by using apup2 and going into options and changing the release location to...
http://www.autopatch.../releases2.list Make sure the 2 is in there that is the list for test scripts.
I don't have all the apm's created as I DON'T have some of the installs in yet so I can't create the detections for them. I only created detections for the ones I have installed which might not even be the the same as the ones im downloading... we shall see.
