FWIW I have the same update error now and again but after several retries it's good to go. At times a reboot is in order. I think my problems is with Avast so I disable it before updating.
Your work here is very much appreicated. You have save me hours of work more than one time.

Ed

Edit: I forgot to mention, I'm on XP Pro SP3.

@edbo1... can you supply the log file..if used apup v1 then log file is named apup.logand if you used apup v2 the file name is Apup2_LOG.rtf.
You can use the spoiler code to post apup v1 log or version 2 then attach your log file to your post

Alternatively you can copy the entire contents into the text box here and then make sure to include the spoiler tags
spoiler
copy your log into here
/spoiler

place [ ] around spoiler in both instances

I am in the midst of a fresh download of apup13 so I'll wait until I do a new update (probably next month). I do appreciate your response.

I'm not a nub and have a lot of experience (since 1981 actually) and normally I can fix anything but this one baffels me.

Even though the error appears, it seems to ahve downladed everything properly.

I'll get back to you and again Thanks!!

The error is likely a changed file on Microsoft's side. The file still downloads properly its just that the script thinks it failed because it is no longer the same size or md5.
