I read around on here and did this: ran the cmd that generates the log as admin, I selected Autopatcher Engine, Autopatcher for Windows 7 x64 & the MS Security ENU addon pack.

This is the Windows error box that's popping up:

Invalid procedure call or argument in prjUpdater.mdlShellExecute.executeCommand at line 112.

Help?

*EDIT* I thought I attached my log but it won't allow me. I tried 5 times, dunno what's wrong. It's only 7k.

here's my log:

Log says this:

The Following Releases have been Picked:
seven_x64/autopatcher_seven_x64_sp1_20120410.script
Did you really select Autopatcher Engine, Autopatcher for Windows 7 x64 & the MS Security ENU addon pack. Because if that i true there are more then one type of error going on.

So from what it looks like, it finished downloading some files and then it dies during extraction of a zip file? Strange...

Have you tried it with apup2 yet?

yeah I just selected those 3 updates, I just tried the apup2 you mentioned, and I get "one of more files have failed verification. Please re-run Auto Patcher Update. If problem persists please report to the forums at Autopatcher.com"

I tried running it again with the /log argument but it causes the program to exit out before I can do anything.

ok good... you ran the apup2... now post the log from it. it will tell me exactly the problem. Yes.. apup2 uses a different way to log things.. it ALWAYS makes a log so there is no need to add /log it will fail if you do. I really should amend the code to stop failing on that.

ViroMan, is the project still alive for new users? I've tried and failed to get the autopatcher engine that actually installs the patches. Also don't see the select patches to update screen where some may be blue. I have the rest as far as they go.

If it's not to be continued that's okay just need to know.

yes the project is still alive. I won't let it die. There is still a lot of traffic here at autopatcher.com.

So, can you tell me how you tried to get the autopatcher engine and received a fail notice? If your using the original apup run it with the /log command like this... apup.exe /log and then post the log here.

First of all, I want to say you ARE awsome to hang in here with us!

========================
okay, Im an official old ###### idiot! I finally did a full search and discovered autopatcher.exe in a sub-folder and it's apparently running as planned.

Sorry for the distraction.
==========================

Junk.............

I went to the home page selected THE AutoPatcher Download got an intermediate page. Selected Download and saved apup131NEW.zip which contains:
7za.exe
aamd532.dll
apup.exe
Capcag.exe
curl.exe
hit_this_to_generate_a_log_file_for_apup.cmd
Mscomtl.ocx
mswinsck.ocx

I copied the zip into a new folder, extracted it, and ran apup.exe.
I selected Win XP SP3 x86; AutoPatcher Updater 1.3.0.1 (UPDATED); Autopatcher Engine 5.6.0.100; and Autopatcher for Office 2003.
I clicked Next and it showed 2 progress bars zipping across until it said Finished and showed the Finsh Button.
I clicked Finisn and the screens went away leaving only the desktop..

I looked and have seen the term AutoPatcher.exe but not file anywhere.

I suspect my problen is I am new and such stuff is common knowledge to you folks. All the instructions pointed at downloading what I did as containing everything I need. But then I could just as well have looked right past the magic key.

autopatcher.exe was in a sub folder and not in the same folder as apup?
