Auto Patcher will not run when DEP is turned on. I have to add it to the list so DEP does not protect. Had to turn it on so the new Windows 8 beta would gime the CPU error. Can this be fixed? This may need to be fixed to run in Windoes 8. Just run the firt part of the Windows 8 upgrade to see if it could be installed on my computer. It is way to big for my connection.

DEP error. Hmm. Well this is probably due to the way it uses curl. It reroutes curl's output(screen information) to itself and parses the data for information on the download progress. Nothing can really be done about that except removing curl from the equation. This can't be done since I don't do VB nor do I have a VB compiler.

Been running Win7 Ultimate 64bit w/SP1 and I just checked: DEP is on - has been since I installed Win7 - have not had any difficulties running AutoPatcher - or is it something I may not have noticed? Please clarify.

So the dep error only shows up in windows 8? hmm they might have changed what they consider breaking the rules.

No, I am running Windows 7 anbd wanted to see if I could run Windows 8. Had to change the DEP to get Windows 8 to install. I stop it at where it wanted to download the files. I have autopatch working. Just had to add it to the list.Not sure about Windows 8. Someone with Windows 8 could try it out.

Turn it on for all programs and services except those I select If you do that one Windows 8 will install but autopatcher will not run unless you add it to the list.

ok, your second reply confused me. well its like my first post says dep errors are probably due to the way autopatcher modifies curl while its running to reroute its output to autopatcher.

I have Win8 on my #2 system - May take till later today and/or tomorrow but will try to remember to invoke AutoPatcher next time I start Win8 and see what happens. As far as I know DEP is on - I've had no reason to stop it.

Win8 Release Preview 64bit > DEP is ON > AutoPatcher

Microsoft Windows - Critical Updates has a check in the box. Click + > Windows Media Player - Critical Updates has a check in the box but no updates listed. I really doubt if there are any critical updates required here.

Microsoft Windows - Recommended Updates > no listings

Microsoft Windows - Updated Components > no listings

Microsoft Office Addons > (Should not even be included, Office is not installed here) > click +
Agent 2.0 ... Baloney - this is a Windows program - not an Office program (has been from the beginning)
Visio Addons
OpenType Font... Why? Again, a Windwos program
Visual Studio ...

Windows Addons > click +
Network Monitor and Parsers - why, no listing of items
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Security Update Redis x86 - blue
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Security Update Redis x86 - blue
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Security Update Redis x86 - blue
Adobe Shockwave Player - was black, I checked and it installed OK - blue
NOTE: Many other Visual C++ items I had installed were not listed

NOTE: Adobe AIR and Flash had been installed by me - were not indicated here by AutoPatcher.

Stand Alone > check mark in box for Microsoft Security - black
Adobe Reader - blue - I had previously installed it.

Control Panel > Windows Defender > version 4.0.8400.0 is installed

Clarification? As in you also installed the X64 versions but, they didn't show up?

So it didn't install? hmm...
I had installed the x86 and x64 Visual C++ 2005, 2008, 2010 versions; if I remember correctly the count was about ten or more items all together, only these three were listed. (I'm sending this from my #1 system and trying to remember what was on #2 system and Win8.)

The installation of Win8 included the Windows Defender version I mentioned above (default install - no option to install or not) - notice the verison numer I incuded, that may be why AutoPatcher did not detect it.
