XP Pro x64 w/SP2 > AutoPatcher > Microsoft Windows - Updated Components

Item: Windows Update Agent v7.47600.229 test(x64) has a check mark. I beleive this is obsolete - Microsoft Updates recently upgraded/updated Windows Update
Agent to version 7.6. I searched for files and found the following:

wuapi.dll - version 7.6.7600.243
wuaucpl.cpl - version 7.6.7600.243
wuaueng.dll - version 7.6.7600.243

Recommend this item be removed.

WhatACrock has constructed a completely new script from scratch. There are still a few bugs to work out. There are plenty of things that have changed since the old script and this new one. Please be patient. Its his first time.

No problem - I'll be waiting to check it out when it becomes available.

An newer update is currently available for Win 7 and Vista, so far not available for WinXP.
Will add the update to test script once the update becomes available.

Latest version number is 7.6.7600.256

A question to ViroMan - isn't the windows update agent part of the common modules or just part of the components modules?

It is a common component to all windows versions.

Windows update agent is in the common module script

Quote

tem=AutoPatcher WUAgent module
DetectFile=autopatcher:\modules\Components\WindowsUpdateAgent_x86.apm
DetectHash=94544A0F77D826B0756F19ED05FB9107
DetectFile=autopatcher:\modules\Components\WindowsUpdateAgent_x64.apm
DetectHash=9A8CCC8CD543644126D1226A28E726C9
DownloadFrom=http://www.autopatcher.com/releases/common/WindowsUpdateAgent_7.4.7600.243.7z
DownloadTo=autopatcher:\temp_bin\WindowsUpdateAgent.7z

however that being said... it gets placed in the components area.

ActionAfterDownload.Unzip=autopatcher:\temp_bin\WindowsUpdateAgent.7z :: autopatcher:\modules\Components

I assume this is to share the updates with all versions of windows since it applies to them all. Your script should probably leave it where it is. We will change where it downloads to when we convert the other scripts.
