Hi all, hope your having a good day.


I work for a small firm in england (46 employee`s) and today we needed a laptop up and running for a new member of staff. We reconditioned a spair we had, software all configured, indeed all went very well until we got to windows updates.

First, they took an age (which is nothing new since I`ve been doing desktop support for a decade, I should point out it`s not the laptop as it`s an i5 with SSD) then SP1 decided to bollocks up during the configuration stage, and basically ruined the OS.

I had a look around as what I want is something that I can download once (verified), and install from multiple times, and have it mobile, and/or deployable somehow.

I downloaded your software, clicked the square for SP1, it downloaded and verified, I clicked ok, the program closed and thats the last ive seen of it.


So my question is, what exactly IS autoupdater, and what can I do with it.

Welcome to the forums.

AutoUpdater is one part of the the application.The other half is the autopatcher.

If you only downloaded Seven SP1 then you won't see autopatcher.exe in your apup folder.

You need to download Autopatcher updater and Autopatcher engine to be able to update the laptop.Once you have downloaded those 2 selections and clicked finish, open the folder apup and you will see autopatcher, double click to start and you'll need to tick the eula's (two of) and once the autopatcher has verified the release will display the options you'll need.
Start with the criticals which should be preselected and allow it to run,once finished will reboot and repeat until all updates you need are installed.
You may also want to download the common modules, dotnet package matching the system,and whatever you think will relevant to your needs
