We are seeing the same problem here... links are going dead.

I wonder if Microsoft would take issue with storing these files that they have removed from their own servers.

well like I told you in pm I will try to get in contact with Microsoft and see whats up with the missing links and if it would be cool if we stored the files they are taking off line if they have no intent on restoring the files.

I have sent a few e-mail to Microsoft threw a few different routes and have not received a single response. I am leaning towards removing the links from our scripts completely and having the scripts delete the already downloaded files to be official.

MS support for XP is supposed to last till 2014 if they remove the files then they must no longer be needed. Does anyone know if AutoUpdate still downloads those files. If it does, we can parse the update link and get the hidden download urls.

so, can we copy missing updates manually into autopatcher?
could someone post additional hash sums for safety?

You could do that... but, you would have to have your own copy of the script and have apup run that script. It would mean you no longer get updates from the site.
In the next version of AP you will have the ability to add files to be downloaded without removing the ability to download things from site.

To get the hash files just use an md5 tool... there are plenty of them. So download the file you want... then md5 it.
