There "seems' to be a problem with Autopatcher installing the latest and greatest updates for August for XP-SP3.
Autopatcher allows you to accepts the licenses and then verifies the moudules and update, but when you select the updates to install, it does not seem to want to update (especially the critical updates).
The list of updates that will not install or seem to not want to install are.
KB2661637
KB2653956
KB2675157
KB2731847
KB2723135
KB2705219
KB2712808
KB2722913

Autopatcher "seems" to download the updates OK , but like I said previously, it does not "seem" to want to install the updates.
When I run Autopatcher again, the same updates (see above) do not turn blue in color to indicate that the updates have been installed successfully.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

If you want to speed up load time add the 'nolicense' switch to your shortcut - autopatcher.exe /nolicense - this will save you 2 clicks.

What exactly happens, nothing, an error message? Have you looked at the log file of any of the suspect updates, does it give a reason why, "update doesn't apply"...? Have you checked Add/Remove programs, are you sure the update(s) hasn't been applied, it could be the detection in the apm file associated with the update...?

Hmm, OK, I just noticed I'm getting the August 3, 2012 XP script from the releases list, not August 14. I edited the link in the browser and there it is. I'm not sure if my ISP is now caching or not, if not update the releases list file.

I was wondering why I wasn't finding most of the failing updates, August Patch Tuesday script isn't coming up for me, I was looking at August 03 edit of the XP English script. APUP at my end is retrieving August 03, not Aug. 14, I hope my ISP hasn't resorted to a cache system, and if 0814 is not on the list yet how did the OP get the updates to his/her system, manually...?

list - http://www.autopatch...m/releases.list
0803 - http://www.autopatch...20120803.script
0814 - http://www.autopatch...20120814.script

APUP (apup.exe), the sister application is the tool that downloads the files, AutoPatcher (autopatcher.exe) installs the updates, just some FYI :)

If it fails after the second time, a first place to look as at the apm file, see what the detections are, check your system, then report the failed install and the discrepency in the apm file - no need to keep trying :)

...KB2675157 - this update should have been removed as of June 2012 Patch Tuesday...

Spoiler

...KB2722913 - which update, there's 3, IE6, IE7, or IE8?

The Aug14 release list only appeared shortly and then pulled because off errors. Some people managed to download that version. Domi is currently on it. The Aug3 version is actually for July Patch Tuesday.
