Test script for Win XP x86
Whatacrock
18 Aug 2012
Okay people, I have been working on the Windows XP x86 script and believe its at a testing stage by other members.
The layout is identical to the windows XP x64 with the executable files contained in just one folder,no longer in individual folder for each file. The sub folder contents have also been moved to the parent folder for each section.
If you wish to test this, I would advise that you backup you apup and use the backup for the testing.
I hold no responsibility for those that refuse to heed my warning.
As usual as with my other test script for Win XP x64 please report any errors and/or suggestions for changes..
As with previous release download the archive, extract the file to your apup folder(backup used for testing) and execute in normal manner. The test will use apup v1 for the time being

Made a full copy of the AutoPatcher folder - renamed the WhatACrockTest-AutoPatcher.
Downloaded and unzipped Test_xp.7z. Thebatch file opened APUP and one check mark noticed in the XP SP3 box > Next and download started. Ran AutoPatcher - everyhting looked ok. Navigated to other folder with previous version of everything - ran AutoPatcher > everyhting looked the same - did not notice any changes.
Opened APUP log file from WhatACrockTest foleder - it follows - a first read indicates something was wrong:

Started original AutoPatcher folder's APUP.EXE and found a check mark in the box for XP SP3 English 03 Aug 2012 (Is this the same update as in my previously mentioned test?)
Also noticed other updates:
AutoPatcher Common Modules All 14 Aug 2012 <- should this also be downloaded?
XP SP2 (x64)(BETA) English 16 Aug 2012 <- will this impact the hidden XP Pro x64 test/updates being worked on?
Extras Addon Pack English 14 Aug 2012 <- should this also be downloaded?
I don't want to screw up a valid test so I figured I'd ask first about these other items.

Autopatcher started:
First glitch - empty box with no label displayed as first/top item in box: List of available items
Microsoft Windows - Critical Updates: only two items listed - really? Why not listed under Windows XP x86?

Microsoft Win Malicious v4.11 (KB890830)
Windows XP x86
Critical Updates - no check in box - all blue
Non-Critical Updates - no check in box - only two black:(KB2661254)(KB2732052) <- Microsoft Update did not list these as two as requiring installation

I forgot to mention in my original posting that this test release is up to date ie August 2012.
@DesertJerry- I'm not sure why there is a empty box at the start..maybe someone else can clarify my error for that one...
This is still a work in progress and I needed other members to report errors and such so as to correct problems...errors most times from interuptions of visitors(have cured by working on it late at night).
Have removed attachment from my settings!!!!

im pretty sure your move batch files are slightly wrong. More to the point your txt files.
So I tried it and duno what it is... but APUP2 can't run your script and your script causes apup v1 to die at the end. lol

This will remove the double error I post up top.
windows_wga.apm keeps downloading as a 404 error.... this is probably why I get a blank box.

My \WhatACrockTest-Autopatcher folder - ran the Test-XP.bat file > files downloaded.

Topmost heading is now Microsoft Windows - Critical Updates (did you revert back to previous?) Subheading now inlcude Internet Explorer - Critical Updates and Media Player - Critical Updates - all items are shown in blue.
Because the previous heading or Windows XP x86 is gone - what are we checking on the 'new' script?
