I might be wrong but, I think wac said something about a root update that MS said was available but, not pushing.

The root certificate update was reported by click-click in the Autopatcher XP x86 Depot thread on page 40 post number #796, so edited the script to include it.
I am sure that click-click will back me on this update.

Found this whilst reading through MS site this morning and this confirms the Root certificate update included in latest XP Test Script.

OK peoples have updated and uploaded December edition of Win XP x86 script to my dropbox.
Please use the archive in post #99 to download.

As I posted in XP x64 the late note applies to x86 as well. Decision to install is up to you and will give us an idea if the detection is correct.

Hopefully if all is correct this release will be moved to the main list replacing the current one listed (am not updating that one this month)

XP Pro x64 w/SP2 > downloaded latest test script > unzipped > ran batch > downloaded latest.

Started AutoPatcher > blue dot in Windows XP x64 & 2003 x64 > clicked + and found only ... - Critical Updates also blue dot > expanded > two items black:
Cumulative ... IE ...XP x64 (KB2761465)
Cumulative ... IE7 ... XP x64 (KB2761465)

I don't think these two apply - I am running IE 8 here so I would guess that the APM must be edited to point to an appropriate verion of Internet Explorer for the two Cumulative Security Updates.

Note: Had empty item: Microsoft Windows - Recommended Updates (no + to left of label).


XP Pro w/SP3 > downloaded test batch file > unzipped and ran > downloaded updates.

AutoPatcher > blue dot Windows XP x86 > clicked + > blue dot ... - Critical updates > one black item: Update for Root ... (KB931125) > check mark in box > selected Next > Finished > restarted AutoPatcher > same item still black.

DO not know why this item indicates not installed.

Also, empty item Microsoft Windows - Recommended updates - No submenu of items.

Thanks for the report DesertJerry.....double checked the apms for the 2 cumulative updates dispaying in your ap...they do NOT appear in mine and are unable to explain why they appear in yours.
Please check the apms :

KB2761465-x64-ENU.apm ..check for the following entry and same for KB2761465-x64-IE7-ENU.apm

[SystemComponents]
InternetExplorer=6

[SystemComponents]
InternetExplorer=7

The empty item is due to the parent apm still resident in the modules folder....this is left in place as for those who have multiple OS's in their APUP/AP.

As for KB931125 -- Update for root certificates....am still looking into the problem

UPDATE : found a solution to the problem with KB931125 and uploaded to dropbox...PLEASE TRY IT AGAIN !!!!

XP Pro x64
Had to edit each of the three APMs to add [SystemComponents] for IE6, 7, and 8. Restarted Autopatcher and now only the reference to the IE8 version appears.

I seems that you may of downloaded the release before I noticed the errors...had corrected and uploaded to location.
Try again and all should be good.

As to your post with line through your text have no idea.....appears you may have hit the strike through button, have corrected it for you DJ.

The Root Certificate update (KB931125) was placed back in the Windows_Critical as the this update is for all Operating Systems...refer to post# 103.

Have sent an email to dkdk_it on the subject as I believe this update should be moved to the Common Modules release.

I this is the case then another apm will need to be written as the registry location is different for the x64 edition of XP and I'm not able to verify file detection for the x64 editions of Vista, Win 7 or Win 8.

Have uploaded a fix to the errors report in Autopatcher for Windows XP SP3 x86 to my dropbox....Not all the problems reported here have been attended to but did find a couple more errors which were amended. Have not done anything regards these removal as yet....need to dicuss with ViroMan

delete windows_noncritical.apm (in \modules\)
delete __msxml directory (in \modules\Components\)
delete __msxml .apm (in \modules\Components\)
delete euFontUpdate.apm_files directory (in \modules\NonCritical\)
delete euFontUpdate.apm (in \modules\NonCritical\)


If you have downloaded the Official version this will make it Unofficical untill the release is re-signed.
Please report any other errors that you have detected and will correct ASAP..

Again, downloaded latest batch file, ran same, then AutoPatcher - still looking good here.

The test script has been updated and uploaded to Releases2 for testing.
Changes made to latest are as follows:
1/. KB931125 (Web Folders) has been relocated to Components
2/. MS Security apms edited to correctly display in Autopatcher.
3/. KB931125 (Root Cert) removed and relocated to Common Files.

Please people, check your apup/ap directory to make certain the apms and executables are in their respective locations and also run Autopatcher to make positive they are displayed in correct locations.

As usual please report any errors and also any suggestions you may..

Once the script is okayed by other members then will be moved back into the main releases.

Quick note: the releases2.bat file lists AP updater as 1.3.0.1 - should it not show the most recent: 1.4.0.0?

Don't think that ViroMan has gotten around to changing it yet...should be fine as it is the testing area for releases.

Testing area is testing area. Not everything is up to date, that's why you must be aware of what you are doing.
Speaking of testing... I will probably change that link for a new apup i am getting ready soon(next day or so).

Changes:
Smooth download bars instead of blocks.
MD5 check progress(so you know its not frozen before downloading)
Always log, /log switch useless
Calls sweeper to clean stray files.
Option: Release.list URL. <--- so you can point to releases2.list or WAC's DB release.list instead of running a batch file.
Option: Default button so you can reset stuff in option(like the url).
