You need to use Xp_Test.7z which unzipped will give you XP_Test.bat which will download the latest script.Remember this is a testing script

That's what I get for having XP_Test.bat in my Autopatcher test folder and running the latest from my regular folder - I'm going to move the batch file and delete the Test folder - XP x64 testing is done so that's the main reason I had it.

Ran batch - got 30 Aug 2012 script - download OK. Test and report may be delayed - severe storm warning being mentioned on radio (thunder and lightening) - may lose power.

Did a quick check - everything looks great but: Microsoft Windows - Recommended updates is third item in List of Available items - problem - no items or submenus - is it empty on purpose?

Microsoft Windows - Recommended updates should contain WindowsUpdate Agent if you have downloaded the common modules release.If you haven't then that will explain the empty entry

APUP1 > selected Common Modules All 23 Aug 2012 > downloaded

Started AutoPatcher > no change in - Recommended Updates - no submenu or items; no Windows Update Agent located.

Went to \modules\NonCritical folder > all files/folders in that folder included _seven_ in name - meaning none were applicable to XP (either version).

I must assume there are files/folders missing from this location.

My Bad in my last post...reading wrong folder.....sorry!
It appears that you may be mixing up the directories so here is the layout

Explorer>APUP>modules>Windows XP x86>Critical....or Non Critical............or Components etc
each of these folders has a child folder holding the executables. In the Windows XP x86 folder you will find the module apms....critical....non critical etc. This holds true for Windows XP x64 as well..

Loked at my layout and there should be nothing in the recommended updates
Hope this sheds a little more on the subject

Booted into XP Pro x64 > AutoPatcher > same results > third item listes is: Microsoft Windows - Recommended Updates is shown but has no submenus or items.

Same problem here DJ.
Looks right to me and the folder in question should be empty as no noncritical modules are common.
Have left the original folders in place for those that have more than XP x86 and XP x64 in their autopatcher.My testing ap is built on a flash drive and so only have five folders under the heading of modules...those being Microsoft Windows - Critical updates, Microsoft Windows - Updated Components, Windows XP x64, Windows XP x86, Windows Addons.....it looks so much cleaner this way..

Started AutoPatcher > List of available items >

Microsoft Windows - Recommended updates - includes a long list of Windows 7 items BUT name could be confusing as Microsoft Windows - Recommended Updates does not match APM.

In AutoPatcher\modules folder the APM in question is: windows_noncritical.apm and opening it you find:

Title=Microsoft Windows - Recommended updates.

I would suggest the Title be changed to Microsoft Windows - Non Critical Updates to match the APM.

Also, because this is a Win7 item only and because when AutoPatcher is run from with XP (either version) an empty menu item: Microsoft Windows - Recommended updates appears the following should be changed:

From:
[OperatingSystem]
WindowsVersion=ANY
SystemLanguage=ANY

To:
[OperatingSystem]
WindowsVersion=seven_x64,seven_x86
SystemLanguage=ANY

That apm still belongs to a few other scripts like all the other language scripts load that. The Italian XP scripts still use it for example. Whatacrock has not converted them.(nor am I asking him to its just and example.)

Well if others feel that way I can oblige but, ATM I still feel it is an accurate representation of what is inside its category. Perhaps "Microsoft Windows - Non Critical Recommended Updates"

Except that the recently worked on scripts and updates for XP Pro and XP Pro x64 are labelled Non critical updates - without the Recommended being included - stay consistent.

I agree with needing consistency and I had intended on changing them all to be as such if people agreed on that string. Sorry that I did not mention that.

While I'm at it the Windows XP x64 updated script has been emailed to ViroMan....will be verified by him and posted to main release list if correct

WAC I looked over your latest x86 script and it seems alright except that you delete WindowsXP-KB2659262-x86-ENU.apm(in the text file) and then call for it in the script so it has to be downloaded again.

OK me and WAC worked things out. The new script is now up on the Test list(http://www.autopatch.../releases2.list)

What am I doing wrong? Run APUP2 > Options > Release list Location > http://www.autopatch.../releases2.list > OK > Get List > Available releases > select three Items dated 2012 Sep11, 2012 Sep 12 and 2012 Sep 12 > Download > Error Messaage: Abnormal program termination.

@DesertJerry....yor error is simple......need to use apupV1 not apupV2.

APUPV2 has a bug which VM is sorting out so please use APUPV1

Have attached the bat file for releases2.list.

OK - downloaded and ran the batch file mentioned above. Started AutoPatcher XP x86 > all items I expectd to be blue were blue - so I would say things are good.

Later > AutoPatcher XP x64 > as above - everything looks good.
