Okay, I downloaded a zip file. Extracted it and clicked 'apup'. It asked me to choose things to download. I chosen that 'windows 7 sp1 32bit' to download. However my windows is not sp1 but there was no option to choose 'windows 7 without any sp'. Then it downloaded files of 106 MB and stored it in folder 'modules'. Now will these files work in W7 without sp1? and how to update my windows now? should I've to click each single file to install. What to do now. Please help me.
Will anybody help me please. I'm totally confused.

Some files will work without SP1 but, I am sure that most of them require it. To get SP1 go here: http://www.microsoft...ls.aspx?id=5842 and download this file: windows6.1-KB976932-X86.exe and then run it.
Once you install SP1 your going to have to run apup again... this time select AutoPatcher engine. once its finished you will have a new exe file next to apup called autopatcher... run that. It can install the updates for you.

Nearly all the updates are post SP1 therefore requirement is to install Service Pack 1 before using autopatcher to install updates.
You should notice after installing Service Pack 1, updating apup and autopatcher that some if any updates are displayed in blue(meaning they are installed)

To try to make sure users are aware of the necessity to have service packs installed I would like to suggest that in the "List of available items" box items are listed in a manner that makes that abundently clear:
Microsoft Windows XP x86 w/SP3
Microsoft Windows XP x64 w/SP2
Microsoft Vista x86 w/SP*
Microsoft Vista x64 w/SP*
Microsoft Windows 7 x86 w/SP1
Microsoft Windows 7 x64 w/SP1
Microsoft Windows 8 x86
Microsoft Windows 8 x64
I deliberately added 'Microsoft' here because of how other items appear; i.e. Microsoft Windows - Critical Updates.
For the same reason - Microsoft Office versions should be listed in a similar manner.

Sorry DJ honestly I saw it but was doing other things that day... and then forgot to post.
I do like the formatting and am thinking about doing it.

There are download links, including direct links for the x86 and x64 service packs, .iso and .exe files here:
... AutoPatcher 7 SP1 (x86) Hotfix Depot
... AutoPatcher 7 SP1 (x64) Hotfix Depot
The information was good for quite a long time, not sure anymore...???
