Hi Guys, where do I find the latest version of this software (pgm) or how can I download the latest version through apup131NEW, please ?
For the moment I 'm using the old version I have (dating from 03/09/2010 / mm-dd-yy format) but I wonder if that is the latest and I also wonder how new users of Apup would get hold of it?

If your talking about Autopatcher.exe itself... there is no newer version yet. Soon as I finish APUP I will work on Autopatcher. When a newer one is available you can get it through APUP.

Ok, thanks for that news; but the question was also for new users: how do they get the Autopatcher.exe downloaded to their computer system?
If I download Apup to a computer from a friend, I needed to take an 'Autopatcher.exe' copy with me to copy it to his system to be able to use the Updater effectively ...
That can't be the way it ought to work, can it?
That 's why I put this question here ...

Hi Eric

When you extract the contents of the latest apup.exe, like you've done, the first thing I do is run apup.exe, when given the menu items, the first 2 scripts are what you want to download first.

... AutoPatcher Updater - this will grab the latest apup.exe if one is available.
... AutoPatcher Engine - this will get the latest autopatcher.exe (GUI) if available.

This will give you the base program structure minus the \modules folder, you will get this when you select any other script, OS, .NET, whatever. What I like to do is before I download any additional script and I have downloaded the latest AutoPatcher and APUP programs (the first 2 scripts listed) - I archive the folder - \apup.

Now, when needed, you can extract the program in full to another system, run APUP (apup.exe), and select the actual releases you want to create a complete AutoPatcher package. If when you run AutoPatcher without any releases it will start but you will hit a window with a message wondering where the releases are, no biggie

Don't forget, it's a good idea to always have the first 2 scripts selected when maintaining a release package, this way you will always be checking for new updates to the program as well.

That begs another question; why has the new release not been awarded a new version number, instead of the term 131NEW ?

Well, if I remember correctly the update was minor and not APUP code, 7za.exe was updated. Some time ago I also had updated the dependant files, the ones you see in the various folders, and this too wasn't new code related, read here if you like - http://www.autopatch...-ocx-dll-files/

It's no secret both programs are in need of serious code modernization but the project is all volunteer and there are fewer and fewer volunteers so you make do with those who can donate time.

... the update might also have been curl.exe - 7za.exe or curl.exe I believe was the reason for NEW being appended to the zip name.
