AutoPatcher Forum

I was wanting to look at the module editor and see if I could have autopatcher also install some of the "other" programs that I install on 90% of all computers that I work on... When I open AutoPatcher, and click on "Advanced>Start Module editor" I just get the following error "AutoPatcher cannot find the module editor (editor.exe) in the tools folder"

I also looked in the /modules folder and there is no "tools' folder..

can someone help me out with this.

And I just started Autopaatcher to verify things and the Module Editor did start when selected from Advanced.

@Qlueless - It looks like the editor isn't included in the AP Release update script. I'll look into this and try to include this if all is well.

@DeserJerry - I'm assuming you have editor.exe since you installed over a previous version before APUP existed =)

Cool... I downloaded the old version, installed it, took the "tools" folder and put on my website for anyone that wants it and not have to download the 332Mb complete "old" version just to get these files..and also have to install the old program..

unzip the file, and place the "tools" folder inside the root folder that AutoPatcher is in.... and your ready to make your own modules.




Is there a "how to guide" out the for making the modules? I looked at it real fast, and some parts I had questions about... like the installation, and the detection tabs.

Something just came to mind about this: I don't believe the module editor is going to work. It tries to save the modules with an .amc extension which was in an older version of AP. AP now uses .apm as the default module name.

If you open one of the modules in a text editor like notepad, it's pretty easy to create by hand once you get the hang of it. Also check out: http://www.autopatch...m/documentation You will want to look at the: AutoPatcher Documentation - APM Format which is how I learned how to make modules
