I am going to fix the errors but, not add any updates since dom is still working on that. He is going to convert and update the script to be similar to WAC's script.

edit:
Ok so I fixed the script up and removed rootcert since it was older version and the new one is on common. Removed tweaks and put in MS Security area from WAC's script. I left it in the test list(releases2.list) since I made more changes then I planned too and I can't tell if they are good since I don't have x86 system.

Go HERE to get to the test list if you want to try it.

Ok, i downloaded your Release2.zip. I've extracted it on a copy of the original autopatcher folder to avoid any issues. I run Release2.bat and I've clicked "next" with defaults items selected. Now no errors appear. Here the updated log file (please don't consider system's wrong date time):

Now I can try the autopatcher program (not the updater) or you're still working?
Thanks
Paolo

yes I run autopatcher without problems, but I probably missed something. I do not see any update to install. After the service pack 3 should be several updates. The security update tree is missing. Do I have to re-use the updater to update something?
Thanks
Paolo

If the script at issue is the one listed in post #5 - autopatcher_xp_x86_ita_20130104.script - part of the problem may be in a few of the parent modules...

This is what I found...

Title=Microsoft Windows - Recommended updates
UniqueID=WINDOWS_NONCRITICAL_PARENT
[OperatingSystem]
WindowsVersion=VISTA,SEVEN

Title=Microsoft Windows - Critical Updates
UniqueID=WINDOWS_CRITICAL_PARENT
[OperatingSystem]
WindowsVersion=VISTA,SEVEN

Where's XP?

thanks for your interest _def_x_. I do not know the scripting language of autopatcher. What I can deduce is that the software still does not give the desired results and is therefore useless for my situation (windows xp professional 32 bit). I can only install the updates manually

pascas -- you can edit the parent apms that _def_x_ posted using notepad...just change the WindowsVersion=VISTA,SEVEN to WindowsVersion=XP_X86 in both apms and save...run autopatcher and should see the windows xp listings.

This of course will make autopatcher unofficial but will allow you to install the updates
