teeny little suggestion. I don't know if it's just me but I think if the items that are already installed were indicated in a light-grey or even light-blue, and even possibly disabled so they couldn't be installed it would be more obvious that they are already installed. They actually look kind of highlighted like they need installing in the current setup, IMHO

A good and logical idea for changing the color of the installed updates ans the way it is at the moment I would say everyone is used to the color scheme..

As far as disabling the already installed updates not such good idea as there may be an update that a user wants to uninstall for whatever reason...

Will see what any of the others have to say regarding the idea.

We are sort of on the same page there helly. In AP 2 there will be three separate pages for the Update list. One that will show what can be downloaded, one that can be installed, and the ones already installed.

This is a copy of AutoPatcher's colors I downloaded years ago:

AutoPatcher Legend:

Bold is for root items (color depends, see below)
Black is for official items which are not installed (or some child item is not installed)
Blue is for official items which are already installed
Green is for official items with all child items installed (blue or green)
Red is for unofficial items (whether they are installed or not). A suffix is also added.
Orange is for unofficial items which are installed. A suffix is also added.

Have no idea as to how applicable it is for todays stuff.

That stuff isn't even in code. That may have been for the older version that was when everything was downloadable from the site.

I like the idea of more options with the AP GUI, options to change colors is nice, icluding messages regarding the 'Official' and 'Unofficial' status of the package - you can read the text in this case. I would be a bit careful with giving users carte blanche with the color wheel regarding updates though, it could become very confusing knowing that all possibilities in the color spectrum may be the colors a user chooses for either installed or uninstalled updates.

Pairs of colors, distinct and different might work, or a choice of preselcted colors, say 10 unique colors for 'Installed' and a different 10 for 'Uninstalled'. Icons would also work, then the user could change the colors all they want.

Just my $0.000000002 worth.
