I checked the recommended updates and had AutoPatcher install all (22) - rebooted - same items still black and/or checked.
I started NirSoft's 'Windows Update List 1.31' and could not find a listing for any of the above items.
I started the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA) v2.2.2170.0 and Security Update Scan Results: all Scores had green shields with check marks and all Results were: No security updates are missing.

There is not a 64bit version of the NirSoft program, for now.
Ran MBSA - same results as above.
So, any else have similar problems? Any ideas as to why they don't appear to be installing?

Ya I talked to someone the other day and they said about 12 updates for win7 x64 were not installing and THAT was the main reason I was reading that 1mb log, looking for what updates were not installed. This will seriously help the effort thanks DJ.

DesertJerry is your system a clean vanilla install with only updates installed from WU?

Does you AP show official?

If you are using the repositories from McRip, Komm or Solor, it is quite possible that the undetected fixes you mention have long been superseded by others. For example. KB2476490 was replaced by hotfix KB2520155. If you have KB2520155 installed, KB2476490 will be black because AP does not do hotfix detection. I think I have mentioned this to you before here. The same goes for KB2491683 which was replaced by hotfix KB2644491. I don't have the time to check the rest for you. Please verify what you have installed. Thanks.

p.s. Nirsoft wul is pretty much useless for fixes that have been integrated on a Win7 system. It will only show
stuff installed by WU. Use dism /online /get-packages /format:table /English >OnlinePkgs.txt if you want
to see what you have installed.

VM: Superseded fixes will normally not install if a newer fix is present.

OK I had not actually checked the list for anything, I just saw that his x64 list showed 11 updates and figured it was like someone else told me they had wrong. I was going to go through it today but, it looks like you spotted some bad things in there. thanx.

AutoPatcher does not start as Official; mainly becuase I have edited the APMs for beta or prerelease programs I have installed: i.e. FlashPlayer 11.6.602.161 beta, Microsoft Security Essentials Prerelease 4.2.216.0, Java JRE 8 beta, etc.
Mention may have been made earlier of a newer update replacing something older thereby preventing AutoPatcher from installing an item shown in black but without having a comprehensive list of what repalaced what that would be unknown to me or any user; is there some kind of master list available that would provide this information?
Win7 was installed using a source that had been updated with SP1 and over 300 updates, at that time from SoLor, using the WinToolkit available from here: http://www.wincert.n.../5-win-toolkit/ - this is the area I was guessing was the main cause of the issue and I am at fault for not mentioning this installation information in my original posting.
I used your DISM > OnlinePkgs.txt information to get the text file. It will take me a while to go through it and review the listing provided.

DJ, there is no easy way to determine if a fix has been superseded. It's pretty much manual. You basically have to search the web. One way of determining if a fix has been superseded is to check the file version(s) listed in the subject KB. Once you know that, check the file version(s) that is on your system. If it is higher, then you have a newer fix installed. The next problem is to find which KB the newer fix belongs to. I usually search on the newer file and version and if I'm lucky, I usually find a newer KB that relates to that file.

I would not bother using Autopatcher on Win7 if your system was built from one of the mentioned repos since it will contain a lot of hot fixes. You could add some additional detections to the superseded apms so they show blue though.

Hotfixes are not intended for general installation, since they do not undergo extensive beta testing when they are created. Microsoft targets hotfix support toward enterprise-level customers and designs it to provide an extra level of security for mission-critical software systems.

They are not regression tested. Hotfixes are very specific - you should apply one only if you experience the exact problem they address and are using the current software version with the latest service pack.

I reviewed the OnlinePkgs.txt file - as far as I could tell - no useful information was provided. Because the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer 2.2.2170.0 reported as I posted above I will just have to assume the items listed in black that do not install will not install. If/when I find the time I could review the KBs in question to see if what is superseded is mentioned - beyond that - I'll get used to it. S**t happens

The useful information is that the output file shows exactly what system fixes you have installed. If you don't find any
of the KB fixes mentioned above in that list, that means they have been superseded by others.
