Runtime 0 Error

salespro's Photo salespro 14 Mar 2008

I have downloaded APUP and have extracted it to it's own directory c:\AP. When I run the APUP exe. a box pops up and then I get a runtime 0 error.

Suggestions Please

First question is if you are behind a company proxy or not? If you are, APUP doesn't have proxy support right now.

What you will need to do is to run apup with a /log flag. c:\AP\apup.exe /log

apup.log will be created in the AP folder. Copy and paste it to the forum (it's going to be a long one)

Thank you for the reply. No proxy I have added auto patcher to my trusted listed in my firewall for the moment as well.

This what the log shows:

AutoPatcher Updater starting.
List file HTTP location: http://www.autopatch...m/releases.list
Download queue status: 1 files waiting.
releases.list:

I had the same problem. Solved by turning off the "content filtering" at outpost firewall for the apup application rule.

I had the exact same problem, but when I ran the program from the command prompt to see if there were any error messages, it ran fine!?!?

I also get "error fetching release list" and run-time error '0' after truyint to run apup.exe downloaded today from autopatcher.com

I have apup.exe in my firewall trusted list and do not have the content filter enabled (I don't think Outpost Firewall Pro 2008 has that plug-in)

I extracted the folder without renaming to C:\apup

My error log is the same:

AutoPatcher Updater starting.
List file HTTP location: http://www.autopatch...m/releases.list
Download queue status: 1 files waiting.
releases.list:
Download queue status: 0 files waiting.
releases.list:

The created releases.list file is empty

None of the suggestions above have worked.

I have a router but I don't see why that should be an issue for a simple download

Update to my earlier post -

I still get the runtime error '0' on one PC but on another I managed to download the WU's.

I supposed that I can copy the files to teh other PC but I would still like to solve the problem

About to tear my hair out when I stumbled upon your solution. I made the change in my outpost firewall ver 9 and the runtime 0 error immediately disappeared.

Many thanks.
