Impot/Export Buttons

How bout adding Import / Export buttons? I have recently done a complete fresh reinstall of Windows . I have the disk that came with the computer of windows XP SP1 Home Edition and the free Disk of SP2 that Microsoft gave out. Easy enough, insert one disk then the other. Now it's off to Windows Update to download all the Updates. Which for me was 105! Note I am also on a Dialup! Now after an all nighter to get this done, I figure I'm going to re-download all those 105 Updates so Next time I won't have to spend another night downloading. Only thing is, how to install them? I read somewhere about creating a Batch File of them, and save them to a CD. Then it's just click and it's done. Problem with that is they have to be put in release date order. Not a small task. Then typing out the .Bat File. Another not so small task. Then figuring out the command switches for each and learning exactly how they should be typed! For a newbee like me you probably guessed, I gave up! So back to the Import/Export Buttons, Here I have 105 Updates Saved on My computer. So would'nt it be nice if Autopatcher Had these buttons so I could just click on Import and Browse to my folder and have all my updates brought into Autopatcher. Instead of buying the CD or downloading them AGAIN! Then all one has to do is keep up with the upcoming updates. So, PLEASE ADD IMPORT/EXPORT. Also the option to pick and choose which ones you want installed or not would be good. I personaly don't want IE7 or WMP11 or .Net Framework etc. etc. So that option is crutial! Whatever you guys do just hurry before SP3 comes out. Which I hear will have IE7 & WMP11. I will Install it just to get the post SP2 Updates. Then I'll Uninstall what I don't want. So please hurry, or alot of people wont need Autopatcher anymore, at least for a while anyway. Thanks

You do have the option of which ones to install. As for import/export, loot at the .script files which apup grabs, and they tell you where to (manually) put each patch so that it down not need to be downloaded. As for grabbing them from the CD, that would not be easy if possible at all, because they are not stored on the CD in executable format, they are already ex.panded

That would be great, I downloaded all the post sp2 updates that I wanted, and saved them in a folder on my computer. so now one can just click import with autopatcher it will import all the updates into it and install them. Looks like a Great Program! But knowing how I hate to install stuff on my computer, looks like I will wait for SP3 & probably get that CD too! For those who don't want to wait Autopatcher is Perfect! It's just to little too late for me. Maybe a year or two ago I would have used it for sure. But SP3 is just around the corner, they say it's coming out March 24th! so why install stuff your not going to use I always say. I will keep it though, who knows, it may come in handy afterward! Slipstreaming seems like a better route for me to take right now. seeing as I will now have 3 CD's. So I'm looking into this program called: AUTOSTREAMER! (Google it). It's refered to as Autopatcher's little brother! Only thing is I don't think you can use Windows Installation CD's that comes with a computer like mine. Mine came with this Dell computer I bought 4 years ago. I think you can only slipstream store bought CD's. But otherwise Autostreamer is the way to go. You can burn a CD with XP with all post updates into 1 bootable Installation CD. Or, just go buy an XP SP3 CD when they come out. Also for anyone like me who doesnt like installing things, seeing how windows XP does not have the ability to burn IMAGE CD's which you have to do when slipstreaming. You need Nero or Roxie or a program like nLite, which also requires .net framework to be installed. I found besides Autostreamer an addon for Xp's CD Rom, that will give it the ability to burn Images. It's called ISO Recorder and you can find it here: http://isorecorder.a...isorecorder.htm Only works on windows XP though. Now with this, Sp3 & Autostreamer your all set!
