Viroman, do you have MySQL access to the DB for the forums? Maybe you can change the admin password that way?
Does the web host have any suggestions? Do you have access to the web host CP (not just FTP)?
The only other option which I can think of is the domain name dispute resolution process. BTW, the hosting company listed by WHOIS appears to have disappeared. The server hosting autopatcher.com is obviously still running. Weird...
I know I'm probably being Captain Obvious here, but I figured I would ask anyway. If I can be of any assistance, please let me know.
FYI, I would never charge Autopatcher or any of its great volunteers for this. I just want to contribute freely if it would be helpful.

As for the domain name... if I remember a conversation with frank... its set to auto renewal from the bank account that is supplied funds by the google ads. IPS is NOT set to renew its license and is currently expired. That's ok though since its just help service and updates are free for your version. A Renewal would be $25(so there site says).
For the WhoIS... ya... I looked around extensively and couldn't email them, go to the registered site(of the owner) or even get in contact by the phone number. <shakes head>
His twitter account was last active on Sep 11 showing sporadic posts before then. So he may not even notice(or care) that I left him a message there.
... I suppose my next step is to get in contact with godaddy and see what I can do from there.
edit: ... ohhh shi...
Creation Date: 28-oct-2003
Expiration Date: 28-oct-2013
It better auto-renew.

Yeah, I know about the expiration date, but I didn't want to mention it outright so I attempted to hint at it by telling about my client who is going through the same thing. As far as MySQL is concerned (the DB), most web hosts us phpMyAdmin, so the most common URLs would be phpmyadmin.domain.com or domain.com/phpmyadmin. Also, it may be accessible from the web hosts control panel. My client cannot change anything on the GoDaddy side, but since we have full access to the web host CP, we can login, create new users, enable SSH/terminal access, and upload an entirely new site if we wanted to.
As far as the 'malware' situation, I wonder if there is a malware scanner for IPS (or one that just scans websites) that is available for anyone to use. I wonder if IPS renewal at $25 as you mentioned would cover scanning for malware. Sadly, it's pointless if there's no auto-renew...let me know if I can be of any further assistance =)
I'm also in California, BTW if that helps.

Looks like I can run queries on it too.
bah... tried to grant myself all access in msql... denied.
don't have the create user or grant privilege... although I do have
I suppose I could use update to edit my access if I could figure out how...
