I would like to download and burn Autopatcher for Windows 2000 to send to an elderly relative. He has a dial-up 28.8 KB, and the file is >200MB. I would like to know how to download the complete updates for his OS. I run Linux; would I need to do this process on my XP partition?
I am happy to find Autopatcher is alive and well.
Thank you for your help.

You will need to use Windows to compile the release.

  • Download APUP ( http://www.autopatch...hp?showtopic=89 ) and extract it to an empty directory.

  • Run APUP.exe and select the following:
    • AutoPatcher Updater 1.0.4

    • AutoPatcher Engine 5.6.81

    • AutoPatcher for Windows 2000

    • DirectX Addon Pack (Optional)

    • Extras Addon Pack (Optional)

  • Click Next

  • Wait for APUP to finish downloading the files. If it gets interrupted, re-start APUP and try again.

  • Burn the resulting directory to a CD (or DVD; depending on the size)

  • Send him the CD and tell him to run AutoPatcher.exe

Couldn't have said it better myself. If you don't mind, I'm going to add this word-for-word to the FAQ later.

Sorry.. no royalties!!!!! =-P <evil laugh>
