Translation strings for the Parent modules

Antonis's Photo Antonis 06 Jul 2007

As you might know, AutoPatcher Vista is multilingual, and so, I need the correspondent translation strings (French, Italian, Dutch, Greek, etc) for the parent modules, so that they can be shown according to the Regional Settings used.

So, i need the strings that you use in the parent modules, that are:

Quote

Title=Windows Addons
Description=Various addons for Microsoft Windows

Title=Microsoft Windows - Updated Components
Description=Updated Windows Components

Name=Microsoft Windows - Critical Updates
Description=

Name=Microsoft Windows - Recommended Updates
Description=

Name=Registry Tweaks
Description=Tweaks for your system

Thank you. :)

Renato, wake up! Things are seriously starting again...
I guess that as the past (and present ?) Vista release manager you own everything to fullfill Antonis' request.
If not I can send him the latest copy I have.

I'm more awake that you think. ;)

I have been thinking and i think that now I'll split between x86 and x64 versions of Vista.

What do you have to send me?

I have already noticed. I was joking.

I am not a Vista specialist, but obviously this will alleviate the load for people who are interested in one flavour of Vista only.

To answer Antonis' demand, I'll send this :
----------------------------------------------------------------------
\modules\windows_addons.apm
Title_1036=Additifs a Windows
Description_1036=Additifs divers à Microsoft Windows
\modules\windows_components.apm
Title_1036=Microsoft Windows - Composants mis a jour
Description_1036=Composants mis à jour pour Windows, beaucoup sont recommandés!
\modules\windows_critical.apm
Title_1036=Microsoft Windows - Mises a jour critiques
Description_1036=Mises à jour impératives pour Microsoft Windows
\modules\windows_noncritical.apm
Title_1036=Microsoft Windows - Mises a jour recommandees
Description_1036=Mises à jour non impératives mais néanmoins recommandées
\modules\windows_tweaks.apm
Title_1036=Reglages du Registre
Description_1036=Ajustements (Tweaks) divers du système Windows. A utiliser avec précaution.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Otherwise, a file named AutoPatcher_WinXP_Aug07_x86_FRA_Core.exe should be sleeping somewhere on autopatcher.com. I uploaded it for Lyndon to make it official. It was the day before the "Sad Day"; and things stayed there...

What should be done to build the scripts for apup? Does it exist some automated way?

I understood that. :)

All the parent modules already included those translations strings, even the "\modules\windows_wga.apm".

Right now, there is only a pre-beta tool to create the scripts automatically.

May I give it a try ? Or is there anything else to do to start working again on translations ?

@ patipata: I'll send you the script creator tool.

@ AndyJah: Yes you may. The best way to start, is using the latest version available (August 2007).

For the last three: I used "name" instead of "title" Didn't knew what to use.
So tell me if I'm needed for more translation for Vista. I'm a still a bit unsure of what to do, but Christiano is already helping me.

I am a autopatcher user and would love an option to download ONLY 32 bit packages for Vista. At least provide it as an option, i think all u will have to do is prepare separate scripts. Would be VERY helpful, i am trying to use autopatcher for Vista to save bandwidth on repeated downloads of updates after reinstall. But the current method instantly doubles the download size.
