I noticed Autopatcher has support for multiple os's from the install and this is good I have a few questions that I hav't seen yet.

Is it ok to download the entire everything of all updates using autopatcher and apply just what you want?

If you download multiple os updates say xp/vista/2003 you can use the same tool to deply on each system?

Will there eventually be a tool in autopatcher that you can download all updates for all os's all at once on the master system and then automatically split the os updates up for archiving on dvd's (as no doubt all updates for all os's will be a bit large) or for various deploy methods?

Thanks

AutoPatcher will only allow you to install items that are relevant for the OS it's running on, even if the modules are there, so yes to the first 2 questions.

You can burn the entire folder to DVD; I'm sure it's not > 4GB.

I noticed when getting the updates down on vista x64 last night it said one or more updates failed verification do you want to continue.

Also with autopatcher.exe in the folder if I run apup to update I get: Updater - Run-time error '0'

Hmmm even deleting autopatcher.exe im still getting that: Updater - Run-time error '0'

Pretty much can confirm its bug as I've tried well over 10 times now on Vista x64 though it works sometime and not most of the time.

As for size if I got all the Office updates for all versions as well a all systems it would be well over 2gb as office updates alone is 1gb.

And before you say you don't need to grab everything.

I volunteer at a local university here (It's a student to student initiative) fixing and building computers for the students so something like this I would need the entire lot.

- The verification error was due to KB942763 being updated for SP3 detection by Microsoft. That should be fixed.

- Can you discribe some more details about the Run-time error '0' This typically will stop the entire download but you were able to download all of the Office updates? Is this happening when you try to download the core update pack that contains autopatcher.exe?

The runtime error from what I have seen has no pattern to it.

I would load it up select only the core and vista for example and click next and it would go to fetching the list of updates from autopatcher then that run time error would come up.

As for the core yea that has always been selected in the list .

Other times it would work fine and download the updates.

Haven't downloaded office yet I checked the file size for it.

As for that update thanks on that info I noticed this morning it wasn't doing that error about the failed file.

Just to clarify:
If I start APUP and select every check box, it will download everything for every OS and program.
Then if I burn this large folder to a DVD and take it to various computers with different OSs on them, When I run Autopatcher it will detect what OS it is and install the correct patches???

If this is true, that is way cool!!!
