Now running XP Pro with SP3 and still Office 2003 with SP3. Ran Microsoft Update and no items listed as needing to be installed. <_<

Ran APUP then AutoPatcher - following shown in black, were selected, AutoPatcher ran, still shows black.

Microsoft Windows - Critical Updates > Update for Windows XP (KB942763)

Microsoft Windows - Updated Components > XMLLite for Windows XP (KB915865 v11) (this item was blue prior to SP3 install - now back to black)

Microsoft Office Compatability Pack 2007 > Microsoft office Compatibility Pack Service Pack 1 (this item was black in SP2 and never did change to blue)

Microsoft Office Addons > Outlook Addons: Outlook Calendar Views, Junk E-mail Reporting Tool for Outlook, Live Search Maps (same three black in XP SP2 and never did change to blue)

Windows Addons > Microsoft Color Control Panel Applet for Windows XP (was black in XP SP2 never would change to blue)(item originally installed as a Powertoy in Accessories\Powertoys and not from within AutoPatcher) :(

Read Erik's message, ran APUP, Ran AutoPatcher, selected items, AutoPatcher did its thing, rebooted, started AutoPatcher, results follow:

Microsoft Windows - Updated Components > XMLLite for Windows XP - not listed, gone

Microsoft Office Compatability Pack 2007 > Microsoft office Compatibility Pack Service Pack 1 - no change, still black

Microsoft Office Addons > Outlook Addons: - no change, three items listed above still black.

Windows Addons > Microsoft Color Control Panel Applet for Windows XP - no change, still black.
Looks like the update to SP3 did not help too much.

Oh well, nothing is perfect.

Actually I want you to delete all apm modules located in the Critical, NonCritical, Components, and Extra folders found within the "modules" folder. Afterwards, run apup and update all of your releases again.

If any of these modules turn blue, this will confirm an XP SP3 bug that I suspect I just found.

Let me know.

.APM files in \Modules\Components, \Critical, \NonCritical deleted; do not have an \Extra folder under \modules - should I?

Now to see what happens.

Re-ran APUP, downloaded, ran AutoPatcher - no change from above, same items still listed as black. So, what does that mean as far as a 'bug' you think you found in SP3?

Actually since the update for XMLite went away, this means that everything should be alright.

DesertJerry, I'm not going to be able to troubleshoot your system anymore. Pesonally I would like to look at your setup to see why the defaults aren't being detected. Please understand.

Not to easy to look from Washington to So. California. Oh well. :(

Though I can't believe I'm the only one that is having weird problems. ;)

You select all the black items you think are required for your system and click Next to let Autopatcher install - then, if what you selected does not go from Black to Blue, you complain about Autopatcher not detecting things correctly. That is what I was doing.
