I have been delivering Auterpatcher over the network using a batch file. What I have been unable to do is use an answerfile to only deliver selected patches.
What does the answer file look like? Do I just create a txt file in Notepad and list the patches to install?
Any help would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks,
Idiot

well, you run autopatcher, makes your selections, then, you save an answers file through autopather. then, when you run autopatcher again, it will ask you if you wish load that file. so, you may install the exact same thing in several machines without select each update by hand again

Thanks for your response!
The problem is I am running Autopatcher from a command prompt to remote computers. It is also running hiddon on those computers (no operator interaction at all) I do not want to install every patch/security update. I only want to install the manditory corperate patches.
So I need to generate an 'answerfile' and then use the "answerfile" switch when running Autopatcher.

Run AP on the computer that you are sitting at adn create an answer file there (even if you don't actually install any updates), then upload the answer file to the remote system.

Hi,
If you copy the answer file(s) to the root of your AP folder then you will be prompted to select the one you wish to use once AP has finished loading.

Simon

Thanks Simon!
Except when pushing Autopatcher out over the network, (from the command prompt) the patch install is automated. Neither I nor the operator of the computer can see what is happening.
If you open a command prompt and type in the path to Autopatcher, then add "/?" at the end you will see all the switches available for use. The path should look something like this " C:\Autopatcher\autopatcher.exe /? " (no quotes)
Autopatcher is one great program!
