When you run apup, you'll need to choose which files you want to download. Required are at least one version of an OS and optional you can choose from "extras" to "dotnet" and "directx" modules.
If you download the files for example of XP SP3 and the files for Vista, if you then run autopatcher on a pc with vista installed, autopatcher will install only the updates for vista. Of course if you run it on a pc with XP SP3 installed, it will only install the updates for XP SP3.

Well, here is a big mistake.
Autopatcher doesn't work with "core" and stuff like that anymore. The developers had some problems with Microsoft and needed to rework their programs.

The new way is to download apup (Click here). This is a program where you will choose which files you want to download.

The only difference for a SP2 package is "uncheck" the (xp_sp3) box, and
"check" the (xp_sp2) box

After you downloaded apup, downloaded the files for you OS(check those boxes) then run "autopatcher.exe" and then just follow the instructions.
