Since you started with the 2007 version of AutoPatcher, you may have another problem.
What folder is apup.exe in?
What folder is autopatcher.exe in?
Can you please run apup again with the /log option and post the log file here?

when i run autopatcher i get following message..

This error typically means that a connection to the internet wasn't found by the program. Are you behind any kind of proxy?

i did install new patches with Autopatcher (i have updated Autopatcher today)
but i dont know why does autopatcher every time i do update have problems with verification (i have run apup few times but every time it said the verification failed
everything was ok before, i have verification problem after last apup update 10 September 2008

i can use it and install patches, but when run apup after its finished it said there is verification problem

Thank you for posting the log-file. Your problem is already known. There is a mistake in AutoPatcher's security information for Vista 64-bit.
Until this mistake is corrected, APUP will show the same error. Meanwhile, you can safely use AutoPatcher to install updates, but it will show "Unofficial" at the top of the screen.

yes. ofcourse , i get connected to internet through proxy server. i am a college student where lan setup is established. i have windows vista homebasic. but any how i need solution of this problem which i mentioned a few days ago. i am looking for you for a positive solution.

Thank you for answering the questions I asked earlier. I know exactly what your error message means and will try to solve your problem with you.
Some of the advice you have been given in this thread may have not been completely correct, so you will need to unregister and remove certain files before we try again.
I will post some more detailed steps for you to take when I have some more time later today.

I really feel confidence when I get support from a product or in a forum.

Starting from the end: the strange error message you are seeing means that APUP is unable to load a file it needs and so cannot connect
to the Internet. What should happen is this:
[indent]1) You start apup.exe
2) apup loads ctlwinsckdownloader (part of apup.exe)
3) ctlwinsckdownloader loads MSWINSCK.OCX (a VB6 file supplied with apup.exe)
4) MSWINSCK.OCX loads WSOCK32.dll (part of Vista)
5) WSOCK32.dll loads ws2_32.dll (part of Vista)
6) other Vista files are loaded and the Internet connection is made[/indent]In step 3) you need administrative privileges because MSWINSCK.OCX is an ActiveX control.
Preliminary steps:
1) Check that the files WSOCK32.dll and ws2_32.dll are present in the SYSTEM32 folder (usually C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32) and that they
are the correct versions for Vista:
[indent]WSOCK32.dll (Windows Socket 32-Bit DLL) Version:6.00.6001.18000
ws2_32.dll (Windows Socket 2.0 32-Bit DLL) Version:6.00.6001.18000[/indent]2) Alternatively, confirm that Internet Explorer can access the Internet (since it uses the same Vista files)
I would be surprised if these files are missing. The version numbers I have given are for Vista SP1.
