Hi,

It would seem that the Microsoft Update plug-in included with APXP is messing up WU/MU on many (if not installs).

I believe that the issue relates to the DataStore.edb file included within the plugin.

My understanding is that this file is UNIQUE to each PC, so including this within the plug-in is very likely to break WU/MU on most systems. I believe that this file should be created locally for the PC on which it is needed.

This may mean that this plugin is fundamentally flawed in this respect and probably should not be included within APXP.

So far the only fix is to completely reset the Windows Update system using Dial-A-Fix specifically to delete the DataStore.edb file and allow it to rebuild.

Kind Regards

Simon

Agreed - I'm working on modifying the INF to not install the datastore by default when you install the Microsoft Update module.

The inf was updated which the custom datastore isn't included anymore.
