Hi,

I need to stay on IE6 due to compatibility issues with some other software I want to keep. I know if I install SP3, I'll get IE7 so I don't want to do that.

I have an up to date Autopatcher tree on my system for SP2 which I want to keep. Is there going to be a way to use the SP3 Autopatcher to get future updates to my SP2 system?

Thanks,

Mark

yes, there's an way, but you will have superseed modules. just download the sp3 version an copy all modules into the same folder that sp2 version is. then, you shall have an version that will work for booth sp2 and sp3, sometimes, some updates are replaced by others. we update the script to remove that kind of stuff, but since we don't look into sp2 modules that are already removed... you know, we have an issue the sp3 version: there's an session into sp3 version that makes the needed changes to convert the sp2 into sp3. if we remove that session, you can update an already downloaded sp2 version choosing the sp3 script. ok, you will have superseeded modules, it will work. but then, we will create an issue to everybody that already has updated to sp3, so...

and, by the way: Windows XP SP3 doesn't install MSIE7. if you still have IE6, you keep it. if you already have IE7, you can't uninstall it anymore, just that.

WinXP SP3 does not install IE7 or WMP11 - despite rumors and/or statements to the contrary.
