Ok, forgive my ignorance. Last time I visited this site was when I found out autopatcher was no more. I loved autopatcher because it made it easy to update a PC that did not have internet. I was sad to see it go. Now I find myself having to restore my PC and the update section of Windows Vista is so slow I can go to Disney and back and it still wont be done. I remembered about autopatcher and decided to see what was going on. Now I see a new autopatcher, the APUP and I was hoping all was back to normal. But I don't understand this new program and find myself needing to ask.
Is the new Autopatcher the same as the old? Or is an internet connection a must? Just wanna know since I've been looking around the site and just can't find a direct answer to my question. Thank you.
Autopatcher the same?

Basically AutoPatcher is the same ole' same ole'. The only difference now is HOW you download everything. In the old days, we provided a standalone executible with all the updates. Microsoft didn't like this so now APUP, or AutoPatcher Updater, downloads all the updates directly from Microsoft and the modules from us. After running APUP, everything will be the same where you can burn the updates to a CD/DVD or a USB pen drive.
On the download page, you should find a basic guide on how to use APUP. =)
