Adobe Reader 9.0.0 is available for downloading as is the Adobe Reader 9.0 Language Support.

Note: The install routine from the web removes previously installed versions of Adobe Reader. I had problems with the web install; had to download the full install program to my system and it then installed ok.

It looks like Adobe included Adobe Air with this setup. Pretty lame in my book...

AP updated with both Adobe Reader 9.0 and the Spelling Dictionaries for version 9.0. Get 'em while their hot.

Adobe Reader 9.0 has crashed on every Vista machine I've installed it on. I have not tested my XP workstation yet. This is pathetic, the most unreliable software Adobe has ever put out so far in my book. As soon as I start it up, I get the dreaded C++ Runtime Error: "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way." And that's it, history. Even removed all Adobe apps, cleaned registry, manually installed via a fresh download from Adobe (outside of AutoPatcher) and immediately got the same problem first time starting the app. Back to 8.1.2 and everything is fine. I see from the Adobe support forums that I'm not the only one screaming over this problem.

So has anyone found a resolution to this and can AutoPatcher include 8.1.2 and 9.0.0 as options until the bugs are worked out of 9?

I don't want to add two versions of Adobe Reader to apup and make everybody download both versions. When I get some free time after updating the monthly patch updates, I can add the modules and instructions under the Standalone Modules thread.

Sure, that would work. Hopefully it's a Vista problem (or something unique to my computers) and my client's XP workstations will be fine. Maybe Adobe will get their act together and release a patch soon too, who knows. I can't imagine everyone else is having this much trouble with 9.0 now that it's out of beta.
