I'd like to know the current suggested install sequence for XP Pro sp2.
Is it to run:
AutoPatcher_WinXP_Aug07_x86_ENU_Core.exe
AutoPatcher_WinXP_Aug07_x86_ENU_Update.exe
AutoPatcher_WinXP_Sep07_x86_ENU_Update-KAPA.exe
apup.exe - To download the latest updates
autopatcher.exe - within the same folder of apup.exe
What are the recommended command line parameters?
Thank you,
Docfxit

The latest iteration of AutoPatcher is to be run on XP SP3.
All those files you listed are obsolete and no longer updated and/or supported.

I realize the files are no longer updated and/or supported. Are the addons in the latest download?
The last time I used Autopatcher I understood the addons and special modifications were in those files and only the
latest MS updates were downloaded.
Thank you,

When you download apup and run it, you will be presented with a list of all the releases for AutoPatcher. Simply choose the releases that you want to include and all the modules and updates are downloaded onto your system. From there you can burn everything to a CD/DVD, pen drive, whatever. When you want to update your release, run apup again and only the updated files are downloaded/updated and obsolete updates are removed.

Thanks for the reply.
I understand the download and re-download procedure. My questions are:
1. Does the current set of updates apply the plugins like the original autopatcher files did.
2. What needs to be run (How to run) to apply the updates.
3. What command line switches do I need?
4. When I transfer the files to a different system do I need all folders or just some of them.
Thank you,

I don't know where AutoPatcher_WinXP_Sep07_x86_ENU_Update-KAPA.exe came from, but I'm pretty sure that this is a pirate file, not from autopatcher.com.

This may be before you started working with AutoPatcher.
Before they created the current method of downloading with apup.exe there were large files that people downloaded that included:
1. Microsoft critical updates.
2. Microsoft recommended updates.
3. Plugins that were good to have installed on your computer.
4. Modifications to the OS that helped make everyone more efficient.
When apup.exe was first created it included only Microsoft updates.
At that time it was recommended to apply the old files that included the modifications and the plugins before applying the Microsoft updates.
The question I have been trying to get answered is does apup.exe now include the plugins and recommended modifications or is it still a good idea
to apply the old files to accomplish getting the plugins and modifications and then apply the most current updates that get downloaded with apup.exe.
Thank you,

Let me state it again, more clearly:- AutoPatcher_WinXP_Aug07_x86_ENU_Core.exe was the last official release before Microsoft's CDO. AutoPatcher_WinXP_Sep07_x86_ENU_Update-KAPA.exe, however, is a fake or pirate.
As to your other questions:
A. AutoPatcher has moved on considerably since you asked almost exactly the same question in November 2007;
B. Windows XP SP2 is no longer supported, as already posted by DesertJerry above;
C. You can see EXACTLY what AutoPatcher installs by reading THIS POST;
D. You can see EXACTLY what AutoPatcher extras can be installed by reading THIS POST.
It seems to me that all your other questions have already been answered by Erik Ramey above.

Thank you very much James. I understand fully now. That's great.
I'm glad to see I don't need the old files any more.
It's looking really great.
Thank you,
