APUP, File Not Found

Could you briefly discribe the proper steps to running apup.exe. In the comments page we were posting too, there was a suggestion that it was best to delete *.scripts before running apup.exe. Was this to force apup to download new script files? Do the APM files come from autopatcher.com or microsoft?
I just attempted to run apup but got a "file not found" KB939653_xp_x86_enu.apm.
I've noticed that when apup can't find the KB??????_xp_x86_enu.exe file and the corresponding .APM file and APM folder exists, I can manually DL the needed hotfix from MS and place it in the APM folder. If I run apup again, it simply moves on past the one I copied. If it doesn't hit another file not found situation, it finishes.
So far apup has successfully downloaded all of the Office 2003 updates. I only lack about 10Mb to get finish the XP Oct script. That is the one with the most file not found problems. Not a complaint! I just wanted to report my observations.
Great work AP team.

thanks.
About apup.exe (AutoPatcher Updater), what the tool does is connect to our server, checks the file that has the list of all the releases, and downloads all of them (they are small - about 100 to 200 kbs each).
The .apm files come from our server, and the .exe files (the hotfixes) come directly from Microsoft.
About the "File not Found" problem, we are looking for the problem. We are also going to introduce some changes in the next build (also pre-beta), and that will hopefully solve the problem.
Stay tuned, we are back and have been doing work in the background, even thought it's not visible.

just some thoughts...
It somehow seems to me as if the only problem was that the files that APUP requests do not currently exist on the webserver. So, IMHO the easiest way of fixing this error would be just to place the files on the webserver or at least remove them from the update-lists that APUP downloads when it is started.
No changes to the program code (which seems to work reasonably fine when all the needed files exist in the web) would be required - at least not to fix this particular issue.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Great utility - keep up the excellent work! You guys absolutely rock!
I too am experiencing this 'file not found' error on APUP, fetching KB923810_xp_x86_enu.apm, and however I try to manually download it, it is just not there - I tried Flashget and my browser.
I can get hold of the KB###### file from M$, but not the .apm file from AP. I am using the details from the autopatcher_xp_x86_enu_oct07.script file that APUP pulled down during my latest update session - I believe that APUP would be using this too?
The funny thing is that the other .apms are downloadable using their respective paths in the script file through Flashget.
If we could download these .apm files for now then we could at least get past the respective errors - perhaps the is a repository for these .apms?
Here are my findings for this error if they can be of use:

- Just my 2c on the pre-beta preview version of APUP, for what it's worth.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong, or maybe that file is just not there?

I use this excellent kind of UPDATER for my work (technical support).
It's very difficult to wait to download all updates from MS site or in other words I preffer to use AutoPatcher (I use it from the early begining of th project) and it helps me alot and spend me a lot of time.
Sometimes I can't have an Internet connection and it's very difficult to make an a copy of all MS Updates and keep it in one place and of course the tunning is not implemented in MS Updates.
For many reasons I'm looking forward for an alternative type of SILENT Updater for the machines that I maintain and this is my favorite toll an a AutoPatcher because it's ported to MS 2K,XP,2K3 and Office XP,2K3,2K7 so no other product in INTERNET cannot give me this. Please keep it this good work and of course I thing that donationware is the best way to distribute the product.
Thanks again.

deep
P.S. May be Antonis will implement the option to download future updates via USERNAME and PASSWORD in APOP based on forum registration USERNAME and PASSWORD. This will be good way to distribute the product.
Another project that will be interested to technicians like me is: http://driverpacks.net/ may be in the future we will have the oportunity to have AiO pack (monthly) for Updates based on MS OS and of course the drivers.
Another crazy thing it's to redistribute AutoPatcher like an a torrent or similar P2P so this who are interested will maintain the sources alive.
For this who are interested I'll upload the latest AutoPatcher release AUGUST for all MS OS if Antonis and AutoPatcher Team are agreee to make an a mirror of their great product!
I can provide only a file mirror so if someone from the team is interested I'll glad to help.
