Hi when I try to download updates for Windows Server 2003 SP2, bar the default this is the only one I check. I get a run time error '0'. If I do any other separetly they all work.
It is only S2003 SP2 that fails. The updated date is 10 July

Hello Support, wakey wakey,
sorry about that. But now two of us have the same problem can someone please have a look and fix it.
I am running Windows Vista 64, 4GB, fully patched, and when trying to get APUP to download Win 2003 x86 patches get a "Run-Time Error '0'"
It is obvious that something is not quite correct.
Note I am using this 23/08/2008 therefore the latest dates visible are:
Updater 23/03/2008
Engine 30/11/2007
Win2k3-x86 21/08/2008
The method I use to reproduce is easy - open APUP, on the selection window select Win2k3-x86 click NEXT and then the generic download window opens, the top progress bar is full (100%) everything else is blank and a tiny MSGBOX window opens up titled "UPDATER" ! Run-Time Error '0'. Click OK and the program closes...
NOTE - choosing ANY other item from the selection list works - it is only Win2k3-x86 that fails.
Thanks in advance

please, take a look if into the patch that you are running apup any folder doesn't have non-english or non-commom characters, like ~^é][@#$, etc. if you are running apup from your desktop and your username has anysort of this characters, problem. apup will go straight to 100% and will return rt 0. if is this the case, you may fix it by running it from c:\apup. there's other issue that may be related to that too: the size of the path. if too long, apup may crash too. it aplies to the number of characters too

Dear Cristiano,
thanks for the advice, but no deal I'm afraid. My folder is "J:\Installation Software\AutoPatcher\apup". With all APUP files under this. Just for the fun I have moved all files to "J:\apup" with the same result.
Please note one thing: This ONLY happens with Win2k3SP2-x86. All other (including non-english WinXP) work. It is ONLY related to Win2k3SP2-x86.
Your assistance gratefully received in advance,
regards

Yes, I've turned UAC off completely - ever since I got Vista. Yes, I've also tryed it with AV turned off - same result...
If this was the case why would all other downloads work and only this one not?
regards
Sean
